一、Teaching Aims教学目标
1. Language Knowledge (知识目标)
(1) After the lesson, Ss will be able to understand the meaning of the story “My magic cat”.
(2) Ss will be able to pronounce the short vowel “a”, /?/ sound, with the help of the rhyming words in the story, such as cat, rat, bat, bag, fat and so on.
(3) Ss will be able to understand the rules of phonics containing onset sound, the short vowel “a”, and the ending sound, such as c-a-t, cat.
2. Language Skills (语言技能)
(1) After the lesson, Ss will be able to pronounce the short vowel “a”, /?/ sound.
(2) Ss will be able to spell the rhyming words containing the short vowel “a” accurately.
(3) Ss will be able to distinguish the differences between “bat and bag, fat and hat” and so on.
(4) Ss will be able to read the story “My magic cat” accurately and fluently.

(1) To motivate students’ interest and positive attitude towards learning English.

活动1【导入】Stage 1: Warm up

—— What animal can you see from the song? (I see a cat.)

—— Find out the animal they have seen in the song. (I see a cat.)
设计意图:通过歌曲与学生打招呼,通过亲切、和谐的师生关系走进学生的课堂,通过一年级在《乐唱英语》教材学习的“How are you?”歌曲,进一步营造和谐的课堂学习气氛,同时通过歌词“I have a cat”引出故事“My magic cat”。

Step 1: A story – My magic cat
1st reading
—— Teacher tells the story with the video’s help.
2nd reading
—— Teacher tells the story with the pictures’ help.
After 2nd reading
—— What color is the cat? What is in the hat? What is in the bag? How is the cat?
3rd reading
—— Teacher and children read the story by clapping hands when they meet the rhyming words with short vowel “a”.
4th reading
—— Teacher and children tell the story together.
Step 2: The short vowel “a”, /?/
1. Teacher picks up the words with the short vowel “a”, such as cat, bag, rat, hat, bat.
—— What’s the same letter do they have?
Step 3: The rules of phonics containing onset sound, the short vowel “a” and the ending sound
1. Teacher spells the words with gestures.
—— The words has 3 letters, the onset sound(c, b, r, h, f), in the middle it’s the shot vowel “a” /?/, please don’t forget the ending sound (t, d).

1. Watch the story alone.
2. Listen to the story with questions.
3. Answer the questions.
4. Read the story following the teacher by clapping hands when meeting the rhyming words.
Step 2: The short vowel “a”, /?/
1. Find out the same letter “a” in the rhyming words.
2. Repeat the short vowel “a” after the teacher.
Step 3: The rules of phonics containing onset sound, the short vowel “a” and the ending sound
1. Repeat the words following the teacher by doing the gestures.
2. Understand the words contain the onset sound, the short vowel “a” and the ending sound.
设计意图:通过创编故事,故事引入,激发学生学习的兴趣,故事采用平衡句式,押韵词,让学生读起来朗朗上口。学生通过不同的朗读方式理解故事内容,通过提炼押韵词自然过渡引出a发/?/的语音教学。学生通过观察,找出押韵词的发音规律,增加身体语言讲授和操练押韵词的起音、韵音、尾音,让学生掌握语音知识同时提高语音技能,从音、形的结合掌握单词发音策略。

—— Read the story and stand up quickly when you meet the rhyming word.
Activity 2: The differentiation between the sound and the form
—— Listen to the word and show me the color of the word with the color hand.
Activity 3: The spelling of the words with the word calendar
—— Let’s work in pairs to build words as many as you can and read them out correctly.
Activity 4: The exercise on P6 in the text book.
—— Let’s listen and circle the words you hear.

设计意图:通过设计梯度的练习,让学生充分熟练单词的发音,音、形、义的结合,深刻理解故事的内容。通过颜色手掌活动进行辨音学习,让学生学会倾听和正确辨别混音词中的差别,例如bat and bag增加活动的趣味性。通过使用单词日历卡两人合作构词并正确拼读,学以致用,实现全员参与的目的,培养学生与他人合作的精神。

Retell the story
1. Retell the story together without the rhyming words.
2. Retell the story in groups just with the pictures.
设计意图:有梯度地检查学生是否正确、流畅地朗读故事。通过6小组合作,对故事进行复述,呈现学习的成果。
活动5【作业】Homework
Retell the story to parents.
设计意图:从课上的小组重讲故事到课后的个人独立复述故事,体现自主学习,学以致用的学习过程。
