1. T: If you are here, but your school is in Shanghai. How do you get to school??

2. Ask students to look at the pictures and make a list of the ways to get to school.
3. Show the pictures to the students and read these phrases, ask students to repeat.( take the bus , take the train , take the subway …)
4.Show the pictures to students and ask students to answer the question “ How do you get to school ?”one by one.
5. Show a picture about Part 1 on the screen.? Point at girls or boys in the picture. Ask students to answer and write in the blanks.
Step IV Pair work.
1. Ask two students to read the dialogue on the picture to the class.
2. Then ask students to work in pairs about how you get to school.
3. Finally ask some pairs of students to present their conversations to the class.
4. Look at the picture and ask students to work in pairs. Ask and answer how students get to school in the picture.
eg: How does the boy get to school?? He takes the train to school.
5. Ask some pairs of students to present their conversations to the class.
Step V Listening.
1. Ask students to finish activity 1b and then check the answer .The teacher plays the tape twice.
2. Ask students to do 2a and then check the answer .Read after the tape.
3. Explain the meaning of how long and how far.
4. Do 2b together. Then listen twice to match 2c and check the answers.
Step VI 2d Pair work.
1. Show a picture on the screen and explain these are your home and school .Teach 1. How long? 2. 10 minutes 3. How far 4.2 kilometers
2. Ask some pairs of students to present their conversations to the class. Use the information in 2b to make conversation.
