n. 初次参加上层社会社交活动的少女Origin 西方社会成人礼舞会的传统由来已 久。最早的成人礼舞会来自英国，只限于贵族家庭年满18岁的少女参加，她们会在一次郑重的仪式上被介绍给维多利亚女王，并从此获得参加社交舞会的资格，而这样的舞会往往是贵族之间联谊、相亲的平台。
数百年前，英国贵族社会中有这样一个传统：年满18 岁的贵族少女会在指定的一天，穿上她们最漂亮的衣服，拜见女王。这表示这一年中社交季节的正式开始。这些少女被称为“debutantes”，意为“初次踏入社交界的人”。1957年法国贵族出现成人礼舞会，标准严格，但是一度遭到左翼反对，直至1990年再次兴起。Deputante in Quanzhou, Fujian在当代泉州民俗中，只有十六岁生日，才可称得上是一种独立存在的成年仪礼。
泉俗视男于16岁为“成丁”，因此是岁的生日仪式比较隆重，家里要备上三牲寿面，前往宫庙酬神。是日要设筵请客，外婆家则按例送成年衣帽鞋袜、鸡蛋、寿面、雄鸡等，为外孙祝贺。
　　
自廿世纪80年代以来，泉州家长为子女做16岁生日日益普遍，且大摆宴席；亲友所送贺仪也逐步升级，有手表、金项链，自行车，摩托车，电脑等。让我们来看看做十六岁时的情景吧

孩子年及16成丁之龄，外婆须送给布料、一套衣服、鞋、袜、帽、扇子、毛巾，以及糖、饼、糕和大公鸡一只(让孩子吃鸡做大人)。拍摄这家成丁仪式较为特别，一般闽南地区成丁仪式只需一张供桌，桌上供奉荤素糕果共24碗即可，个别家人会再添加一二桌供品。而这家一共敬奉9张供桌。
一般在成丁仪式用“半亭”，“半亭”上分别有十六宫“夫人”，现在很少用“全亭”三十六宫“夫人”，因为“敬全亭”较繁琐，需要厝边头尾一起为其加入祭祀仪式。整个仪式从凌晨4点左右到早上6点半才结束。
