Teaching aims:

2. Can understand the story and try to read it.
Important points: Understand new words drill, story and read them correctly.

Training aid: VCD PPT
Teaching steps:
Step1: Warm-up and lead in.
1. Greeting. (Good morning! / Good afternoon!)
2. Listen and chant: This is the light.
First let them sing together. And then teacher play the VCD and let them listen and sing after. Last sing together.
3. Teacher show PPT and let them look and do a game (Bomb game).
Please look at the pictures and speak words quickly.
4. Please ask and answer and do the action.
A: Where is the...?
It’s on/in/under/behind/near....
B: What’s on the book?
An apple.
5. Show out the pictures and answer some questions.
1) Where is the chair?
It’s near a bed.
2) What’s near the bed?
A chair.
Step2: Story time.
1. Teacher show out a gift and let them guess “What’s in the box?” Next learn the new word: gift.
1) Please read after me. And teacher take something and say: I have a gift, do you want to get it?
Can you guess: What’s in the gift? It`s a kind of animal. The students guess.
2. Play the VCD to look and listen. And then let them answer these questions.
1) Who’s she?
2) Who’s she?
3) Where are they?
4) Where is the gift?
5) What’s in the box?
3. Listen and repeat and answer questions.
1) How Lily found the gift?
2) Does Lily find the order of the gift?
The students answer, the teacher put the card on the blackboard.
Read these cards.
3) Is Lily happy?
4. Listen and repeat. Teacher emphasizes the sentences: Go and find it.
5. Listen and point and repeat.
T: Please you’re your book. Turn to P16. Finger, finger, point. And let them take out their pencils and make notes.
6. Listen and repeat once more. And then divide into group to read this story.
7. Read in group again.
Step3: Practice and role reading in pairs or groups.
1. Let some groups read this story.
2. Let someone read.
3. Read it with teacher.
4. The students act the story.
Step4: Sum up.
Step5: Homework:
1. 指读P16-17两遍。
2. 复习2单元。
