Ⅰ. Pre-task preparations
1. Look at the picture and guess what the girl is going to do.
Lead in the title— Unit 3 Travel Plans
2. The teacher asks the students: Where do you want to go? What can you do there?
Ⅱ. While-task procedures
i. New words and phrases.
1. Play a game: Brainstorm. If they know this place, just stand up as quickly as possible.
2. Learn the word: The Great Wall. At the same time, emphasize the first letter should be capitalized.
Show them the pictures about the Great Wall. Try to describe it with adjectives.
The teacher asks: If you go to the Great Wall, what do you want to do?
Ss: I want to take photos there.
Show a picture to tell the students that we can’t write or draw on the places of interest.
Show the map of China and the position of Beijing.
3. The teacher describes Harbin and let the Ss guess the place.
Choose a student to come to the front to point the position of Harbin on the screen.
Ask students about the weather in Harbin in winter, and what they can do there.
At the same time, learn the word ‘ski’.
4. Show the map again and find out where Dunhuang is. Ask:
What do you want to do in Dunhuang?
Learn the phrase: visit the Mogao Caves.
Watch a video about the Mogao Caves.
Ask: What can you see in the Mogao Caves?

5. Look at the picture and guess the place—Hangzhou.
Learn ‘West Lake’.
Ask: What can you do on West Lake?
Ask the students to describe Hangzhou.
6. Ask the students to describe Sanya and the activities they can do there. --swim and eat seafood.

1. Let the students finish the Task C. Check the answer.
2. The students follow the teacher to read the words and phrases on the blackboard.
The teacher mixes up the activity cards and then let a student put them into the right order.
3. Listen and follow. (multi-media)

1. Listen to Lily and answer the questions.
2. Listen and follow the listening material.
3. Retell.
4. Listen to Andy and choose the places Andy wants to go and the things he wants to do.

Ask the students to talk about their travel plan with their partner.

课后反思:
孩子们对这节课学的内容非常感兴趣,较好的掌握了本节课的重难点内容,学会了用句型来描述一个地方,能够制作简单的旅行计划,并且自己能够扩充旅行计划的内容。问题:有的同学在描述一个地方的时候用词比较单一,这说明平时的词汇积累还不多,今后可以对孩子们词汇积累方面多给与引导。
