教材分析
本节课学习一封电子邮件。内容为教者的朋友想去上海国际博览会做一名志愿者，陈述预设的活动安排并邀请本人参加。要求学生通过阅读和找信息，理解邮件内容，进一步学习和运用本单元功能句：What would you like to do? 及其回答：I would like to ...。本课中涉及到exposition这个词，在此之前，学生已经熟知世博园，但不会英文表达。本课将在邮件学习中，联系沈阳世博园，学习和运用这个单词。本课围绕单元主题备课，承接上节课内容，综合运用本单元功能句，并做适当的拓展延伸，使学生能在不同语境中运用新知。除此之外，课堂结尾部分还能使学生简单了解国家大事。
学情分析
五年级的学生有了一定的语音和词汇基础，有了一定的知识储备量，知道怎样上英语课；能够整合已学知识，在教师指导下顺利学习；能够独立阅读简单的语篇，在教师指令下完成一些活动并且能够写一些较长的句子，合作能力强。但语言表达欠佳，时有错误，而且语音语调模仿能力不强，还应多加练习。
教学目标
1. 语言技能：能够读懂陈述某个特别日子的活动安排并邀请他人参加的邮件。能抓住大意和关键信息，模仿录音较为流利的朗读。并且能够写一封邀请别人参加某项活动的邮件。2. 语言知识：I would like to ... We can ... Would you like to ...? 3. 情感态度：培养学生学习兴趣和与他人合作的能力。 4. 学习策略：积极参与课堂上的各种活动，倾听同伴发言，并表达自己的观点。 5. 文化意识：了解志愿者活动，知道国家大事并愿意为国家做贡献。
教学重点及难点
教学重点：1. 词汇exposition, hand out, help people find their way, enjoy the night view。2. 询问他人喜欢做什么的功能句：What would you like to do? 及其答语：I would like to …教学难点：邮件中的短语较长，如 help people find their way, enjoy the beautiful night view of the city。
教学基本策略及设计思路
本节课开头用一首与本课有关的英文歌曲热身，让学生在听和唱中复习有关联系方式的短语，顺势提出问题，有这么多种联系方式，你是怎样与亲人朋友联系的，建立语言输出环境。为新课学习做准备。接着用自己收到邮件引出本课学习内容。在学习过程中，通过阅读、找信息、表演、看板书复述、听音跟读、填空练习等活动了解和掌握邮件内容。接着从上海的活动引到沈阳，请学生选择一个喜欢的活动进行讨论并邀请他人参加。最后，请学生写一封电子邮件邀请朋友一起去某个地方，并陈述活动安排。本课中有演唱、读说、问答、讨论、看听、表演和写作等活动，培养学生多方面能力，激发学生的兴趣与热情。
资源的开发及说明
本课使用了一些相关的图片，简短的小视频和课文音频。第一个视频歌曲为热身活动，复习有关联系方式的短语并引出话题；课文音频给学生提供英语氛围，模仿语音语调；后边的讨论活动中给学生提供一个简短的视频，让学生感受彩跑的形式和乐趣，吸引学生注意力，同时也增添了趣味性。图片的使用让知识点更加明确和清晰，便于学生理解与语言输出。
