Introduction to the Olympic Games

The Olympic Games, including the winter and the summer Olympics, are held every four years. Events like skiing and ice skating are usually held at the winter Olympics, while races, swimming and sailing are held during the summer Olympics.
All countries can take part if their athletes have reached the agreed standard. The motto of the Olympics is “swifter, higher, and stronger”.
For each Olympics, the host country will build a special village for the athletes to live in, and some stadiums and a gymnasium as well. Besides, new medals and mascots will be designed.
For the host country, it is not only a great responsibility but also a great honor. Therefore, every country wants the opportunity to host Olympic Games.
