Teaching aims:

b. New sentences: We are very interested in English.
c. Let’s practice. Let’s chant. Let’s chant.
2. Ability: The students can talk about their English learning. Develop the ability to observe things.
3. Moral education: Review primary school English learning and improve interest in English learning.
Student analysis:
For students in Grade Six, they can combine their own language knowledge reserve and learning methods experience to discuss English learning.
Main and difficult points:
1. The rules of pronunciation in the past tense.
2. Be able to use functional statement to communicate in real context.

A tape-recorder, a video and some pictures.
Teaching procedures:
Step1. Lead-in (use a story)
T: First, I have a famous story called《The Ugly Duck-ling》. Look, she was an ugly duckling. Although she was not beautiful, she tried her best to learn something and never gave up. So, let’s have a look! What did she learn? (给出图片提示)
S1: She learned to swim.
S2: She learned to fly.
S3: She learned to lay eggs.
T: Good! At last, what happened? Can you guess?
S: She became a beautiful swam.
T: Yes! Her dream came true! Who can read this sentence for us?
T: How did she become a beautiful swan? Do you know?
S: By learning.
T: Good! Learning made her perfect!
Step2. New Lesson
T: Learning also made you and me perfect. So everybody, it’s time to talk about our English learning. Are you interested in English?
Ss: Yes! I am interested in English.
T: Oh! Good! I’m so happy! So let’s say “We are very interested in English.” (板书呈现、分组读)
T: You said you are very interested in English. So what can you do in English?
Ss: I can listen to English / speak English / say something in English / read English / write English / talk in English / play in English.(板书呈现)
T: Excellent! Anything else?
S: I can do role play / act in drama/help foreigners / play computer games / sing English songs / watch English movies......
T: Wow! You said very well! Look at the blackboard. There are a lot of English words. So I think we have learned a lot of English words. (板书呈现、齐读、男女生读)
T: We have learned a lot of English words in our English lessons. What have you learned in other lessons?
S: We have learned ... in our … class.
Step3. T: You are wonderful! You have learned so many things. But do you know these words? (PPT)
When you say a sentence that happens in the past, you can use them. Can you try to match these words?
spoke, wrote, read, said
T: Good! Read after me! I say “speak”, you say “spoke”.
Look at the other three. listened, played, talked
Who can stick on the blackboard? (S贴到黑板上的相应位置)

Step4. Chant
T: Excellent! Here’s a chant. Let’s have a try!
First, just listen, listen. The second time, chant in groups. At last, chant together.
Step5. Let’s talk (Interview)

Show one group’s poster, stick on the wall, sign their name on it, take a photo for them.
Step7. Homework
Summarize your English learning and write a short passage named “My English Learning”.
Step8. Summary
T: Today, you are perfect. I hope when you meet some difficulties in the future, please don’t give up, try your best like that ugly duckling. I think all of you can be beautiful swans. Thank you for today! Class is over!
