Step 1 warming up
1. let’s enjoy the Video Avatar and ask the following questions :

2. what other places people could live in the future ?
3. make a dialogue in pairs : where would you like to live in the future ? why ?

本环节让学生观看视频阿凡达很直观的让学生了解未来的生活情况,引起学生学习的兴趣,还有很自然的导入本单元的学习life in the future .
Step 2 pre-reading
1. Make a list of the problems we are facing today .
Discussion : which problems do you think will be settled in the future ? which problems will not be settled in the future?

本环节首先让学生列举当今世界存在的问题,接着要求学生考虑一下未来社会里哪些问题会克服,哪些问题仍然存在, 为下文的阅读作铺垫。
Step3 fast reading
1. Read the text for the first time and tell me in what order was the passage written ? Time order / space order ?
2.according to the time order divide the passage into three parts and summarize the main idea of each part.
?? 本环节是快速阅读让学生在规定的时间里速读课文得出这篇文章的结构是以时间为顺序,即 Before the journey ,During the journey ,after the journey ,这样这篇文章的框架就很清楚,为下文的细读课文做了铺垫, 又培养学生快速阅读的技巧。
Step3 careful reading
Stage 1:Read the Para 1 aloud to answer the following questions:

2. What is a “time lag”?
3. Who guides his trip?
Stage 2:Read the Para2-3 aloud to answer the following questions:
During the journey
1. How did he feel when he was in the capsule ?
2.How did Li Qiang feel as soon as he landed? in the future?? How did Wang Ping solve this problem?
3. How did people in the future travel?
4. Why did Li Qiang lose sight of Wang Ping?
Stage 3:Read the Para4 aloud to answer the following questions:

1. What did Wang Ping’s house look like?
2. What was the green wall made of ? What’s the functions of the green wall?
本环节是细读课文,也是这节课的重点环节,根据文章的框架我把本环节分成3部分来完成,首先让学生大声得读第一段然后四个人通过讨论回答相应的问题,然后用同样的方法处理第二和第三部分,导学案当中已经把这部分的问题化成表格的形式让学生预习完成表格,上课的时为了避免重复,我的教案中就不体现表格了。(我本来的设想是叫学生读课文,自己发现问题,然后同伴讨论解决问题,但是估计学生水平有限还不能自己提出问题,所以我就改成我提问题,学生读课文通过讨论解答问题。)

Use your own words to summarize the main idea of the passage .(让学生用自己的话归纳这篇课文讲了什么,意图是让学生自己梳理,然后老师再补充)
Step 6 : post reading Pair work : role play
One acts as Li Qiang , one acts as his mother and makes a telephone
conversation between Li Qiang and his mother .(这是个扩展的环节这环节主要是想让学生用本节课所学到的李强在未来的见闻,让学生与同桌之间一个扮演李强,一个扮演他妈妈,她们之间打电话对话,李强把在时空之旅的趣事告诉他妈妈,这个环节主要是培养学生说的能力)
Step 7 :Homework
1.?? Finish the comprehending exercise 1-2 on page 19.(这个作业是让学生回去再细读课文完成课后相应的练习)
2.?? find out all the sentence with participle use as attribute and adverbial.(让学生划出课文中出现的过去分词做状语和定语的句子,为下节课的语法教学做铺垫)
3.?? write a passage about the first impressions of the future if you were Li Qiang .(让学生发挥想象力,假如自己也穿越时空到未来,把自己对未来的第一印象写成小作文,这个可能有点难,这个环节就当作课后提升)
