Read the passage and answer the questions.
Ben could hear strong winds outside his home in Alabama. Black clouds were making the sky very dark. With no light outside, it felt like midnight. The news on TV reported that a heavy rainstorm was in the area.
Everyone in the neighborhood was busy. Ben's dad was putting pieces of wood over the windows while his mom was making sure the flashlights and radio were working. She also put some candles and match on the table.
The Storm Brought People Closer Together
Ben was helping his mom make dinner when the rain began to beat heavily against the windows. After dinner, they tried to play a card game, but it was hard to have fun with a serious storm happen-ing outside.
Ben could not sleep at first. He finally fell asleep when the wind was dying down at around 3:00 a.m. When he woke up, the sun was rising. He went out-side with his family and found the neighborhood in a mess. Fallen trees, broken windows and rubbish
were everywhere. They joined the neighbors to help clean up the neighborhood together. Although the storm broke many things apart, it brought families and neighbors closer together.

(1)with作介词，意为“具有……?”，有时暗含某种因果关系，作伴随状语，有以下几种用法：
①with+名词（包括名词性短语）/代词。

He’s a tall kid with short hair. 他是个短发的高个子小孩
②with +名词/代词+形容词。

She left the house with the windows open/closed. 她离开了房子，窗户开着/关着。
★③with +名词/代词+介词短语。

The teacher came into the classroom with a book in his hand. 老师走进教室，手里拿着一本书。
feel like意为“感觉像是……”，此时feel意为“给人以……的感觉/留有……的印象”，like 为介词，后接名词作宾语。
It feels like rain (=It seems likely to rain).好像要下雨了
【拓展】feel like sth./doing sth.还表示“想要某物或想要做某事”，此时feel like sth.= would like/want sth.,feel like doing sth.=would like/want to do sth。

when 和 while 的区别
1.when引导的时间状语从句，从句用一般过去时，主句用过去进行时。
2.while引导的时间状语从句，从句用过去进行时,主句用一般过去时。
3.当主句和从句都是过去进行时，只能用while,表示“与此同时”。
4.当while前后的句子描述的情况相对或相反时，while译为“而”。

when 和 while 的区别
when 和 while都有“当……的时候”的意思。when既可以表示某一时间点，也可以表示某一时间段。在when引导的时间状语从句中，其谓语动词可以是延续性的，也可以是非延续的，可与主句中的
谓语动词同时发生，也可在其后发生。
例如：她走进我房间时我正在看书。
I was just reading a book when she came into my room.
老师进来的时候你在写信吗？
Were you writing when the teacher came in？
when 和 while 的区别
While只能表示某一时间段，不能表示某一时间点。其谓语动词只能是延续性的，而且也只能与主句中的谓语动词同时发生。
例如：正当Jim写作业的时候，Tom来看他了。
While Jim was doing his homework, Tom came to see him.
你不能一边看电视一边做家庭作业。
You can’t do you homework while you’re watching TV.
when 和 while 的区别
when和while 的区别还在于：while引导的时间状语从句多用于进行时态，而when引导的时间状语从句多用于一般时态。
例如：正在他们谈话的时候，上课铃响了。
While they were talking，the bell rang.
昨天晚上妈妈回家的时候，我正在做家庭作业。
I was doing my homework when my mother came back home yesterday evening.
