These big trees grow near the coast of California and Oregon. The climate is foggy( 有雾的) and rainy there, which gives redwoods a supply(供应) of water.
Redwoods can grow for hundreds of years; in fact, some have lived for over 2,000 years! The bark (the outer covering of a tree) is very thick, protecting the trees from insects(昆虫), illness, and fires. The bark of redwood trees has a reddish-brown colour.
Redwood trees are very important to lumber(木材) companies because the trees are so large that each one can be cut into lots of lumber. However, many of the trees are protected in Redwood National Park. Lumber companies cannot cut trees that grow there, so the trees will not become extinct.

Why do people cry? Scientists say the body produces(产生) tears because it needs them. One kind of tears is for the eye, and the other is for the heart. They both work as cleaners. If something else like dust( 灰尘) gets into your eyes, tears also come into the eyes to clean it out. If you are hurt by something, your strong feelings produce some poisonous chemicals(毒素) in your body, and at the same time, tears come out with them. If tears don't help clean out these poisonous chemicals, they will do harm to(伤害) the heart.
In the United States, men have heart problems more often than women do. Doctors say heart
problems have something to do with the pressure(压力) of living and working now. Perhaps men have more of these illnesses because they do not cry enough. They need to cry more.

There are many amazing animals in the world. Tigers are one 'of them. They live in forests or mountains. They eat small animals like rabbits, deer and so on. Their bones are very hard, and the bones can be used to make medicine, so people often killed them for their bones before. It is wrong. We should not do things like this. The number of tigers in the world is getting smaller and smaller. There are now less than 4,000 wild tigers in the world, and they are in danger. We should protect them. I think it is important to help save wild animals.
