Step 1 Warming up
1. 利用图片,复习This is a/an...
教师出示一些图片或单词卡片，请学生用This is a/an...描述图片。教师可以将学生分成若干组，然后将图片分发给学生，让他们在小组内互相展示图片，并做描述。
2. 游戏复习所学过的单词。
Step 2 Presentation and practice
1. 利用手偶，呈现新句型。
教师手持一张昆虫的卡片进行问答活动，引入单元话题和新句型What’s this?
S: Good morning, Miss Sun.
T: Good morning.
S: What’s this?
T: It’s a ladybird. It’s an insect.
教师在黑板上写上单词insect，示范读音，并和学生一起读单词数遍。
2. 利用拼图图块，教授目标词汇。
教师出示Fun time的六张昆虫拼图图块，请学生猜测是什么昆虫，说出说出它们的中文名称。教师然后示范单词ladybird, cicada, butterfly, dragonfly, bee, beetle的读音，并和学生一起读单词数遍。
3. 操练新句型。
教师逐一展示瓢虫、知了、蝴蝶、蜻蜓和更多昆虫的图片，和全体学生进行问答活动，操练新句型。

4. 描述昆虫。
教师继续展示昆虫的图片，请学生用This is a/an...来辨别，并描述它们的颜色。教师可以根据学生的实际能力，拓展介绍small, big, long, wing, body, spot等词汇，以便学生更加具体地描述昆虫。通过描述昆虫，学生须根据描述猜出相应的昆虫。
5. 利用神秘纸袋，操练新句型。
教师准备一只画有问号的纸袋，里面放一些已学单词的图卡，然后请学生轮流拿取卡片。教师问：What’s this? 学生须根据卡片内容回答：It’s a /an...
