Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Pre-task preparations (2 mins)
Listen to the chant on the text book. “What do you hear?”
Step 2. While-task procedures (28 mins)
By listening to the chant, teacher leads to the main word: spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Stick the pictures of the seasons on the blackboard and read them. “How many seasons are there?” “Four seasons!”
Make the train. Students should say the word coming after the word that the previous student says. “I say spring. You say summer.”
Show the pictures of the seasons in PPT and let the students feel the characteristic of the season.
e.g. T: Look! What colour is spring? Ss:Green!
T and Ss: Spring is green.
T: How do you feel in the spring? (Let the students free talk.)
T: Spring is warm.
Open the book and read the text.
Chant together following the video.
Make the new chant and chant by groups.
e,g. What colour is spring?

Spring is green.
Step 3. Post-task activities (10 mins)
Talk about the favourite season in group.

Presentation. “… likes …. It is…”
Homework:
1.Listen to the tape of unit 7. Try to introduce the seasons to parents using the new sentence pattern.
2. Recite the new words.
