一、学情分析
学生对教材上的单词基本能做到听、说、读以及观察；句型能听、说以及运用；大部分学生能进行基本的日常用语交流与对话。 这个时期的学生活泼好动，喜欢模仿，爱表现自己，对英语学习有很浓的兴趣，能将所学的英语运用到生活情景中。但他们在学习方法和策略上还有所欠缺，所以教学中要根据学生情况，创设情景，设计游戏活动和小组合作完成任务等教学活动引导学生学习。
二、教材分析
本课主要通过观察动物特征以及动物图片来教学以下：giraffe, snake, elephant, zebra,并且学会运用词与句。动物类的单词学生已经学过一些，用单数形式来描述动物，因此，教学中通过What is it? It is …与What are they? They are … 单复数的比较，让学生牢固掌握句型，所以学习复数What are they? They are …作简短的对话作为本单元的重点。
三、习得目标
1、语言知识目标：学生能够听读、认识理解以及运用本单元核心词汇：giraffe, snake, elephant, zebra。
2、语言技能目标：学生能听说并运用 “What are they?” 这一句型去询问他人喜爱的动物，并且学会回答 “They are …”。
3、情感态度目标：培养学生爱护动物的良好习惯。

2、通过师生问答引出课题，出示遮盖了身体某部位的动物图片，让学生猜一猜是什么动物。

2、⑴让学生猜测Eddie和Kitty最喜爱的动物。
⑵用一首学过的歌曲伴奏来教授生词zebra。

⑶就歌曲中描述斑马的内容来提问。What can they do? How many zebras can you see?引出复数的学习。
3、⑴听声音，让学生猜动物。
⑵就大象的颜色、身高以及数量等提问。What color are they? How many elephants can you see?引出复数的学习。
⑶用一首chant来教授生词elephant。

4、⑴出示谜语，让学生猜动物。
⑵通过对蛇的学习，讨论是否喜欢蛇，Do you like snakes?从而引出Eddie和Kitty对蛇的不喜爱，引出frightening一词。
⑶用一首耳熟能详的歌曲来教授生词snake。

2、设置情景二：Eddie和Kitty继续参观动物园，来到了第二站，在这里看到了它们最喜欢的动物，出示谜语让学生猜他们最爱的动物，运用句型合理提问。同时，学习核心词汇zebra，并且复习与巩固句型What are they? They are____.
3、设置情景三：Eddie和Kitty第三站听见动物的声音，但未见到动物，提问：What are they?同时，学习核心词汇elephant，通过声音猜测，复习以前学过的句型，并复习和巩固句型What are they? They are____.
4、设置情景四：通过Eddie出的字谜来猜测动物，学习核心词汇snake，并复习和巩固句型What are they? They are____.并最后引出Eddie和Kitty害怕蛇，结束动物园的参观。
