a bar of chocolate
a cake of soap
a loaf of bread
a crowd of people 一群人
a flock of sheep 一群羊 2) from behind his back 从背后
A cat came out from under the bed.
His head appeared from behind the door. Mama has just come back home from outside.
The boy kicked the ball over from across the playground. 1. So it was a surprise to have my name called out at the end of the show along with the lead dancers and to find my arms full of long-stemmed red roses.
e.g. It is important for us to set goals.
e.g. It happened that I went out that day.
e.g. It is still a question when we shall have our sports meet.
It doesn’t matter too much to me what you do.3) it充当形式主语,替代不定式或动名词。
e.g. It is hard to solve such problems.
It’s no use crying over spilt milk.2. Then came my 16th birthday.
e.g. There goes the bell.
Now comes your turn. They stood on the top of the building, they could see the whole city.
