一、教材分析
本单元的话题为When is the art show? 学生在A部分的Let’s talk 及Let’s learn 中已经学过了核心句型When is ...? It’s on ... 及日期的表述。本课为PEP6第四单元B部分Let’s talk板块。本课是陈杰向Mike询问其生日时得知Mike与陈杰妈妈同一天生日的对话,课文对话从Let’s try部分讨论Mike新出生的表弟的生日,自然过渡到Mike的生日,让学生理解When is your birthday? 的意义。对话中还通过陈杰要在妈妈生日那天为妈妈煮一碗生日面渗透了中国过生日吃长寿面的习俗。
二、教学目标
知识与技能:
1. 能够在所给的情境中理解并运用When is your birthday? 句型询问他人生日,能根据实际情况运用My birthday is on ...句型进行回答。
2. 能够在通过图片、视频的辅助及教师的引导下理解对话大意。
3. 能在设计生日派对的情境中理解并运用What will you do? 并能用I’ll ... 句型进行回答。
4. 能够用正确的语音语调及意群朗读课文。
过程与方法:
1. 能够通过所给日期信息,对Mike将会做的事情进行相关猜测。
2. 能够通过观察图片,确定话题,并对对话能容进行猜测。
情感与态度:
1. 能够热心地为别人设计有趣的生日派对。
2. 能够了解别的国家过生日的传统。
三、学习者特征分析
本次授课对象是为五年级的学生。这个年级学生已经具备一定的语言表达能力,能够用完整的句型描述自己的所见。在本课之前学生已学过了句型Where is ...? It’s on ... 以及日期的表述。经过两年多的学习,五年级的学生已具备根据所给条件设计活动的能力。他们富有想象力,性格活泼好动,有鲜明的喜好,能够按照他人的喜好,对接自己已有的生活经验,设计一场既有趣又有意义的主题生日派对。

理解When is you birthday? 句型的意义,并能运用。
难点:
按照他人的喜好设计一个主题派对。

Warm-up
1. Sing a song -- Month of the Year?
学生根据板书提示齐唱。
2. Talking: talk about the calendar
T: What’s this?
Ss: It’s a calendar.
T: Look, I have a calendar here. (PPT呈现日历和Mike图片) Whose calendar is it? Ss: It’s Mike’s calendar.
3. Game -- Read aloud
T: Mike circles some special days out, let’s read the special days aloud. 学生根据PPT显示起立大声读出日期。
4. Guessing
T: What will Mike do in those special day? Please take a guess.
学生根据PPT上显示的日期,提示信息及所给的word bank猜测Mike将会做什么事。

1.1 Lead in
T: Mike is talking about one special day with Chen Jie. What’s someone’s birthday? Look at the picture and guess whose birthday it is. (PPT初始Let’s try部分图片)
学生通过观察图片进行猜测。
1.2 Listen and tick
T: It’s the baby’s birthday. Let’s listen and find out when the baby’s birthday is. 学生听录音勾选Let’s try部分问题的答案。
T: So March 2nd is a special day. Let’s circle it. (PPT上呈现日历,放大3月2日并加圈圈)
1.3 Listen and answer
T: Who is the little baby?
学生回忆听力内容并回答。可以按照学生实际情况再酌情听一次。
2. Learn to say: When is your birthday? My birthday is on ...
T: The little baby’s birthday is on April 4th. How about you? When is your birthday? 教师板书并带读 When is your birthday? My birthday is on ... 学生跟读,并小火车读。
3. Drill
教师拿出一张生日日期卡,示范询问个别学生的生日,并将相应学生的名字写在日期卡上并将卡片贴在板书的日历上。
学生拿着事前被分配到的生日日期卡,通过询问别的同学的生日找出生日卡的主人,并贴在日历上。
4. Let’s talk.
4.1 Lead in
T: Mike and Chen Jie were talking about the baby’s birthday. And now, what are they talking about? Look at the picture, what will they say? Discuss in pairs.
学生观察图片并讨论Mike与Chen Jie的对话。
教师出示文本对话,学生跟读。
教师板书 Mike birthday April 4th
4.2 Listen and answer.
T: Someone’s birthday is on April 4th too. Listen and find out whose birthday is on April 4th too.
学生听录音回答问题。
T: How do you know that? 学生回忆录音内容回答。
PPT显示陈杰吃惊图片,加对话框和语音。
教师引导学生看图,并模仿陈杰夸张的语气和动作。
4.3 Watch and answer.
T: Now let’s watch the video and answer these two questions:
1. What will Chen Jie do for her mum?
2. Chen Jie can have a birthday for ___.
学生带着两个问题观看视频,并回答问题1。
PPT显示答案后,出现陈杰端着中国面条和西方蝴蝶面的图片,教师追问陈杰会为妈妈煮哪种面。
学生回答后,教师带读Chinese noodles are delicious. 并板书Chinese noodles。
学生跟读。教师追问为何陈杰要在妈妈生日的时候煮面。
T: Why does Chen Jie cook noodles for her mum?
学生根据已有生活经验回答。
PPT出示关键词,教师总结,并询问学生生日时是否有吃长寿面的习惯。
T: In China, people eat long noodles in their birthdays. Long noodles are a symbol of long life.
Do you eat long noodles on your birthdays? Who will cook for you?
教师请学生回答第二个问题并板书birthday party。PPT上出示陈杰的话框。
T: “both of you” refers to ... 学生从三个选项中选出正确答案。
教师带读both / both of you/ We can have a birthday party for both of you.

T: Chen Jie will have a birthday party for her mum. She is making a birthday party plan.
教师板书标题:birthday party plan
T: If you are Chen Jie, what will you do for the party? What will you do in the party? Here is a list for you.

学生先勾选,再与同桌分享答案。
5. Guessing.
T: Chen Jie finished her plan and she’s talking her plan with Mike. Let’s listen.

学生猜测Mike的回答。
