教学内容分析:PEP小学英语课文内容新颖、实用、兼具趣味性和时代感,本课课文内容涉及外貌特征、颜色、特点、日期等多方面内容。本课为小猫观察日记,力求引导学生学会观察记录动物的变化,并能引申到实际生活中。本节课是PEP小学英语五年级下册第四单元Part B部分Read and write.在语言结构上,学生将学习外貌特征、颜色、特点与观察日期等词汇以及句型引导的一般疑问句,要求学生能在具体情境中灵活使用。本课课型是动物观察日记,是学生在日常生活中经常遇到又喜欢的话题,学生通过本课的学习,能够口头交流动物的变化,并能归纳总结成观察日记。并进一步将本单元知识点以及自身储备的旧知如颜色、特征、特点等词汇用于实际生活。本节课教学设计坚持由易到难的教学原则,鼓励学生把所学的内容结合起来,并运用自身的知识储备,在真实的情境中进行交流、归纳、总结和记录,注重学生理解、表达和归纳记录方面能力的培养。
教学目标:
(1) 知识目标:
词汇:学生能在语境中理解kitten, diary, still, noises, fur, open, walk等词汇的意思。
句型:学生能够在图片和教师的帮助下运用日期表达法来交流并完成句子书写活动,如They can walk on May 3rd.等;能根据图片提示运用have / has, can等造句。
(2) 技能目标:
1. 学生能够在图片的帮助下读懂日记,并根据日记内容完成连线活动。
2. 学生能够根据日记内容,仿照例句,写出两个描述小猫生长状态的句子。
3. 学生能够在图片提示下,仿照短文写句子并与同学交流。
4. 学生能够在图片的帮助下,将本课所学知识灵活运用并进行真实的情景写作。 (3) 情感目标:
培养学生合作、分享与竞争的学习意识,使学生养成敢于开口不怕出错的习惯。并在情境中运用句型进行语言交际和观察、实践和创新的能力。培养学生在活动中互助合作,发展合作精神,在较为真实的场景中主动、灵活地运用语言,在生活中快乐地使用英语。

一、Greetings.
(课前)相互了解: I’m your new teacher today. How are you? What’s the date today? In last period you talked about birthday, so can you tell me when your birthday is? And your family members’ birthday? Do you know: when is Thanksgiving Day?
— It’s on the fourth Thursday in November.
(设计意图:通过简单的交流拉近师生的距离,同时也复习了前两课时关于序数词的知识点,为后面的学习做好铺垫。)
二、Warm-up and lead in.
1. “Brain storm” about the 26 English letters to review the ordinal numbers in last two periods.
(设计意图:通过快速反应找出26个英语字母的位置,快节奏的反应既检测了学生前两课时的学习效果,又激发了学生的学习兴趣。)
2. Enjoy a song: “The Baby Animals Song”.
T: What animals do you see? Can you remember?
S: I see the …
T: We can see many animals and baby animals, we call the baby dog puppy, we call the baby cat kitten. Puppy will grow up into dog. Lamb will grow up into sheep. Kitten will grow up into cats. Today, our topic is about growing. See how they grow.
(设计意图:欣赏关于成长的歌曲,让学生感受自然界成长变化的过程,歌曲简单易唱,激发了学生英语学习的兴趣,生动有趣。)
三、Presentation.
1. Lead in
T: Sarah likes animals very much. She has a cat. The cats has two babies. How do we call baby cats?
S: Kittens.
T: Sarah likes kitten very much. So she keeps diaries about them.
2. About dairy
(1) Show the diary and read the dates.
T: These are Sarah’s diaries. There are four days, so can you read the dates?
S: April 15th, April 21st, April 26th, May 3rd.
3. Task 1: Read the text quickly and choose the photo for every diary.
T: And Sarah often takes photos. For every dairy, there is a photo. Can you arrange them?
S: ADBC
T: Why? Maybe you are right.
设计意图:通过粗读文本,让学生对全篇日记有大概了解,并能完成相应的简单任务。
1) The first diary. (Listen and say.)
T: Look at the first photo. What’s the date?
S: April 15th.
T: Yes, on April 15th. What are they like? Let’s listen together.
(设计意图:通过听,引导学生找出小猫成长的关键词,老师可提出引导性问题:What colour are they? Can they see? 检测对课文的理解和从文中获取信息的能力。)
2) The second / third / fourth diary
(Task 2: Listen and find out how the kittens grow.)
The second diary:
T: After some days, they grow up, so how old are the kittens on April 21st?
S: They are six days old.
T: What are they like on April 21st?
S: They have white fur now. (解释fur,并稍作实例解释。)
T: What can they do on this day?
S: They can make noises when they are hungry. (播放猫叫吵闹声,帮助学生理解生词make noises)
(设计意图:通过问答找出关于小猫成长的关键词句,既可以开动学生的思维,又很轻巧的解决了文中的难点。)
3) The third diary
Listen and follow (这一部分内容较简单,所以由学生听音跟读,自己体会。)
4) The fourth diary
Listen and fill in the blanks.
T: Time flies, the kittens are growing and growing, what can they do now? Please listen and fill in the blanks.
Eg: The kittens can walk now. They can play with Robin.
(设计意图:通过听,让学生完成短篇填空,可以轻松检测学生听的效果。)
Time for reading (首先听音跟读,之后让学生自由地读一读故事,注意语音语调。选择一则日记,声情并茂地读一读,老师要适当对学生的语音语调进行指导。)

设计意图:欣赏绘本故事,可采用学生自读形式,让学生再次体会动植物的成长变化过程。用非常有趣的毛毛虫故事,可以吸引学生学习兴趣,同时也检测了学生的语言输出效果。
2) Activities: 1. Colour the caterpillar 2. Ordinal numbers hotel (help the kids to find their rooms) 3. Medal tally of the Olympics (根据奥运会金牌榜,完成表格练习。)
(设计意图:三种不同形式的有关序数词运用的活动,让学生分小组自由选择完成,学生既动脑又动手,活动形式多样,全面整合了前两节课序数词的内容,小组完成任务后上台展示成果。)
五、Summary and homework.
安排学生了解或者设计更多关于英语序数词的活动,了解序数词在生活中的应用。
