考情总结
连词是用来连接词、词组和句子的词,分为并列连词和从属连词两大类。在中考中对于连词的考查主要集中在单项选择、完形填空和词语运用中,考查的方向主要从连词在连接两个成分时所起的作用入手,考查连词表示并列、转折、选择、让步等的用法。

易失分点
★就近原则
either...or...,neither...nor...及not only...but also...在连接并列成分作主语时,谓语动词遵循"就近原则",即:谓语动词的人称和数由距离动词最近的那个主语决定。如:
Either you or he is going to the meeting this afternoon.
你或他今天下午要去开会。
Neither he nor I have been abroad before.他和我以前都没出过国。
Not only the teacher but also the students want to have an English party.
不仅是老师还有学生都想开英语派对。
★both...and...连接两个并列主语时,谓语动词用复数。如:
Both Tom and Jim are going to join the speech contest.
汤姆和吉姆都打算参加演讲比赛。
★but和though/although, because和so不能同时出现在一个句子中。如:
Although he was tired, he didn't stop to have a rest.
虽然他很累,但是他并没有停下来休息。
Because the rain lasted for a week, we had to put off our sports meeting.
因为雨下了一个星期,我们不得不推迟我们的运动会。

妙辨异同
引导时间状语从句时,when既可以和短暂性动词连用,也可以和延续性动词连用;while只能和延续性动词连用。

When/While we were talking, Jenny came in.
当我们正在说话时,詹妮进来了。
Mr. Green was watching TV in the living room when the earthquake took place.地震发生的时候格林先生正在客厅看电视。
Mike was playing the guitar while his brother was singing a song.
