This week in school, we had our own classroom Olympics! Our class had five different events —jump rope, long jump, sit-ups, push-ups and “Jump over the Dinosaur”. Everyone competed in each event, one by one.
The events were fun! Sandra won first place in the jump rope event. She jumped 180 times in one minute without stopping. Lisa won second place in the long jump. She jumped very far, but Kim jumped farther.Reading:Listen to the lesson again and repeat. But my favourite event was Danny's. He called it “Jump over the Dinosaur”. It was a race. Each person walked on some paper pizzas, climbed through a cardboard donut and then jumped over a toy dinosaur. We used a watch to see who was the fastest.
What was the result? Danny won the race! None of us could catch him! But I was close. I was only two seconds slower than Danny.
Brian was sad because he lost. He came in twentieth . He did his best, but he kept falling off the pizzas!

多音节形容词和部分双音节形容词的比较级需要在其前加more构成。最高级要加most. 加more/most构成的形容词一般有以下几种情况:tiring– more/most tiring boring– more/most boringcareful--- more/most careful wonderful---more/most wonderfultired---more/most tired bored----more/most boredpopular– more/most popular difficult—more/most difficult形容词(副词)比较级最高级的构成(2)——规则变化:Grammar:比较级,要变化一般词尾加er。

词尾若有哑音e, 直接加r就可以。(nice-nicer)
重读闭音节,单辅音字母要双写。
(hot-hotter, big-bigger, thin-thinner)
辅音字母若加y, 记得把y变为i。

多音节更容易,词前加more 便可以。
(outgoing- more outgoing)比较级(形容词/副词)的构成口诀(1)比较级与最高级的结构可以转换,意思不变。如:
The Changjiang River is the longest river in China. 长江是中国最长的河流。
= The Changjiang River is longer than rivers in China.
= The Changjiang River is longer than river in China.
(2)当某一事物与其他事物作比较时,被比较事物中不能包括本身。如:
He is taller than student in his class. 他比班上其他学生都高。
(3)如果比较对象相同,可用that / those代替第二个比较对象。如:
The food in Sichuan is hotter than in Guangdong.
四川的食物比广东的食物辣。形容词比较级的特殊用法:the otherany otherany otherthat(4)“the+比较级,the +比较级”表示“越...,越...”。如:

表示两者中“较……”时,用“the + 形容词比较级+ of短语”来表达。如:

(6)形容词的比较级可用much, a little, a lot, even等修饰,使原本的比较级在语意上更加明确。如:
Apples are than oranges. 苹果比橘子大得多。
Let’s go to school . 我们早一点去学校吧。形容词比较级的特殊用法:morebettermore carefulfewerthe larger ofmuch biggera little earlier 最高级,很容易,一般词尾加est。

(popular— most popular)最高级(形容词/副词)的构成口诀形容词副词比较级最高级的构成(3)——不规则变化:注意:形容词的最高级前通常要加定冠词the; 副词的最高级前可加可不加。形容词副词最高级注意事项 最高级表示“最……”,表示三者或三者以上(人或物)进行比较,其中有一个在某一方面超过其他几个时用。
1.形容词最高级前一般要加the,但如果其前有形容词性物主代词或名词所有格等修饰语时, 则不再用定冠词the。副词的最高级前面可以加定冠词the, 也可以省略。
e.g.
This book is the most interesting one.
Her youngest daughter is eleven years old.
Liu Jun ran (the) fastest in the race. 2.形容词的最高级常用“the + 最高级+ 比较范围”结构, 比较范围为短语(介词in或of短语)或从句。
一般情况下, 如果主语与介词短语中的名词属于同一类, 用介词of; 如果不是同一类, 则用介词in。
e.g.
Tina is the most outgoing in her family.
Jim jumps (the) highest of all the boys.
The dog is the best present that I have ever received.这只狗是我收到过的最好的礼物。最高级常考句型 1.Which (Who) +动词+(the) +副词最高级, A, B or C? 表示三个或三个以上的人或事物中“哪一个最……”。
Which runs fastest, a car, a train or a plane?
汽车,火车和飞机,哪一样跑得最快?
Which city is the most beautiful, Beijing, Shanghai or Fuzhou?
哪个城市最漂亮,北京,上海还是福州?3.最高级前可用序数词:主语 + be + 序数词 + 最高级 + 名词单数 + 表示范围的短语。
The Yellow River is the second longest river in China.
黄河是中国第二长的河流。
4.表示 “最……之一”:主语 + be + one of + the + 最高级 + 复数名词 + 表示范围的短语。
She is one of the tallest girls in her class.
