Take turns to retell the story to each other. The story of the dodo birdStory relay:
Tell your teacher the story according to the notes. One student gives one sentence. The next student continues with the story.
The ancestors of dodo birds might be a kind of a pigeon. Perhaps they were blown to the island by a storm. The island was a great place for them, because there were no animals that might attack a bird. Also, it is big and has lots of plants. So the dodos didn’t take the trouble to fly any more. As time went by, their wings became so small that they could no longer fly. Besides, they grew very big and fat.
Then, around the end the 16th century, men arrived in ships. The sailors, after a long time at sea, were hungry and eager for fresh meat. The dodos, big, fat and unable to fly, didn’t even try to escape. It was only too easy for the sailors to catch them. And it seems that’s why men called the birds “dodo”, because in Portuguese, it means “stupid”. Humans also brought rats, cats, pigs, and monkeys, which hunted dodos for food, too. About 40 years after the island was discovered, which was about 1690, the dodo bird became extinct. With the extinction of dodo birds, the dodo trees, which needed dodo birds to spread their seeds, nearly died out, too.
Today, there are many other animals in danger of extinction, like pandas, whales and tigers. People pollute their homes, and hunt them for their meat, skin, or other parts of their body.Interview Interview 1 person on the following questions.

We can stop polluting their homes, stop hunting them, and stop buying products made of wildlife animals.
What have we learned today? How the dodo birds became extinct.
The influence of the extinction of dodo birds.
Other animals in extinction
We should respect and protect wild life.
