教学目标：
1.掌握单词:research, website, hill, ice, clear
短语:wait for, do some research, get…together, etc。
2.掌握和运用关于冬天的景色及活动的句型:

—I’m doing some research for my report about my favourite season.
Winter is my favourite season.

Come and enjoy a true Canadian winter out in the mountain.
Start your day on the ski hills or go ice skating.
But don’t forget your scarves, hats and gloves.
You can even get the family together and make a snowman.

教学思路：
本课时的教学内容是冀教版七年级英语下册第六单元的第二课时,重点在于引导学生理解语境,从表示加拿大的冬天的词开始,自然地导入谈论加拿大的冬天及其活动的话题。以了解加拿大冬天的景色和活动作为任务引起学生的听说兴趣,训练学生的听力和口语表达能力。利用动作、手势和图片学习英语单词,同时在文章中反复运用新学的单词和短语。因此,教师可以将知识目标定为掌握本课时新出现的词和短语,了解加拿大冬天的景色和活动的句型。情感目标定为通过话题的学习,培养学生的学习习惯和兴趣,使学生能够了解加拿大冬天的景色和活动,了解更多的西方的气候特征和文化。

设计教学PPT,录音机,多媒体,相应的插图,表示一些活动的实物、图片和单词卡片。

Group work:Ask the students to talk about the Canadian winter and activities.
(1)What’s the winter like in Canada?

After a few minutes, ask the groups to make a report in front of the class.

【拓展】　research的用法:
(1)research可与不定冠词连用,也可以用复数形式,但通常不与many或数字连用。

(2)research后常跟介词on,into或for。

◆ice 用作名词,意为“冰”。

◆【辨析】　mountain,hill
(1)mountain 的意思是“山”,其复数形式mountains 常表示 “山脉”,通常指比hill 大或陡峭的高山。

(2)hill 的意思是“小山”,通常指比 mountain 小的山。
　　They are climbing the hill.他们正在爬山。

◆get…together意为“把……聚在一起”;get together意为“聚在一起”。

3.Writing practice:Write a short story about a snowy day in your city.Does it usually snow? What happens on snowy days?
4.Work in groups:Ask the students to make sentences with the language points.Teacher knows whether the students understand the language points from their sentences.
