Lesson 46 Get Ready for Summer Holiday!
教学目标:
1.掌握单词:noon, hamburger, nature, wish
短语:play a baseball game, at noon, have a party, have a big smile, on his face, be ready for, a natural park, in the forest, etc.
2.掌握和运用关于暑假计划的句型:
This morning, we played a baseball game outside.
We had fun together!
Danny had a big smile on his face.
I did well in my exams.How did you do?
Now I am ready for my summer holiday.
Next week, my friends and I are going to a national park in western Canada.
We will walk in the forest, fish at the lake, listen to the birds and learn more about Canadian nature.
We will see a lot of great things.
In August, my family will go to the beach.
It’s 650 kilometres away from our home.
It will be a long drive.
But it’s my favourite place for summer.

It will be a long drive.
But it’s my favourite place for summer.

教学思路:
本课时的教学内容是冀教版七年级英语下册第八单元的第四课时,重点在于引导学生理解语境,从“期末考试”开始,自然地导入暑假计划的话题。以如何度过一个有意义的暑假作为任务引起学生的听说兴趣,训练学生的听力和口语表达能力。利用实物或图片学习英语单词,同时在对话中反复运用新学的单词和短语。因此,教师可以将知识目标定为掌握本课时新出现的词和短语,描述暑假计划和活动的句型。情感目标定为通过话题的学习,给学生们指出了度过一个有意义的暑假的重要性,描述了制订合理暑假计划的方法。通过本课的学习,增加同学们了解外国文化的热情,掌握合适的度过有意义的暑假的方法。
教学准备:
设计教学PPT,录音机,多媒体,相应的插图,表示一些活动的实物、图片和单词卡片。

StepⅠ.Lead in
Leading in 【情景1】
Warm up:Show some pictures about how to have a nice summer holiday.Let students talk about them.Teacher points to the pictures and asks questions:
T:What is the girl doing?
S1:She is planting the flowers in the garden.
T:What is the boy doing?
S2:He is looking after the baby for his aunt.
T:What are the two boys doing?
S3:They are washing cars on the road.
T:What are the children doing?
S4:They are walking the dogs.
T:What are the girls doing?
S5:They are cleaning the rooms for the old.

[设计意图] 描述几幅关于在暑假的不同活动的图片,通过对话或问答的形式导入本课,让同学们把有关的词汇、短语和句型温习一下。
Leading in 【情景2】
Group work:Work in groups.Ask the students to talk about what they will do during the summer holiday.
S1:What will you do for the summer holiday?
S2:I will have a good rest at home.I feel so tired these days.
S1:You’re right.Then what will you do?
S2:My dad says he will take us to go on a trip for several days.What about you?
S1:My aunt asks me to look after my little cousin.
S2:Oh,I hope you will have a good time.
S1:What will you do?
S3:I will read more good books in the library.

After a few minutes, ask some groups to make a report in front of the class.
Group 1:My group members have different plans for their summer holidays.Mary feels so tired these days.She wants to have a good rest first.Then she will go on a trip with her family.Mike will read more good books in the library.I will look after my aunt’s baby for a long time.I hope we all have a good time.

StepⅡ.Presentation
1.Teacher should teach the new words and phrases in this part:noon, hamburger, nature, wish, play a baseball game, at noon, have a party, have a big smile, on his face, be ready for, a natural park, in the forest.
Teacher leads the students to learn the new words and phrases.Then make sentences with the new words and phrases.Teacher can use objects and pictures.
Teacher points to the pictures and asks the students.
T:What do you often do at noon?
S:I often have lunch.
T:Now read after me“noon”.
S:Noon.
T:Would you like two hamburgers for lunch?
S:Yes, please.
T:Now read after me “hamburger”.
S:Hamburger.

2.Pair work:Ask the students to work in pairs to make conversations.Try to use the new words and expressions.
S6:John, you have a big smile on your face.What’s up?
S7:We will have a party next Sunday.
S6:Are you ready for it?
S7:Yes.I took some photos of the school life.I will show them at the party.
S6:That’s a good idea.I hear there is a new natural park near here.Would you like to see it?
S7:Sure.I want to know more about it.

【辨析】 at,on,in
(1)at后跟具体的时间点,如at eight。固定短语:at noon在中午,at night在晚上。

(2)on后跟具体的某一天或某一天的上午、下午或晚上,如on Monday morning。

next week下周,用一般将来时态。类似的时间状语有:next month/ year/ term 下个月/明年/下学期。

4.Wish you a great summer holiday!?
wish作动词,意为“希望,祝愿”,“wish sb.+名词”表示“祝愿,祝福”。

Step Ⅴ.Practice
1.Ask the students to retell the story with their own words.
2.Work group:Talk about your feelings and activities now.Make a plan for your summer holiday.Discuss them with your group members.
Now discuss for several minutes.Then ask some groups to show their reports.
3.Write a passage about your most unforgettable summer holiday.Why can’t you forget it? What are the interesting things?

Exercise 1 is for reading.What did Jenny do on the last day of school? What is her plan for the summer? Ask the students to read the lesson and match the time adverbs with the sentences. Exercise 2 is listening part.We have finished it in class.Ask the students to finish Exercise 3 by themselves.Check the answers in class.
