Lesson 10 Make Your Garden Grow!
教学目标:
1.掌握单词:test,dry,purpose,consider;短语:make sure,keep…away from,best of all,forget to do sth
2.掌握和运用表达管理花园的句型:
There are many ways to grow a garden.
You need to keep water nearby.
Finally,don’t forget to have fun.
3.了解一些园艺活动的句式。
4.通过阅读训练,小组合作的方式,通过实物或图片提供的场景练习目标语言,提高英语听说读写各方面能力。
教学内容:

2.表达管理花园的句型:

3.进一步掌握祈使句的用法。

教学思路:
本课时的教学内容是冀教版八年级下册英语第二单元的第四课时,主要涉及花园管理方法的介绍。在授课之前先让学生通过网络了解花园管理的特点,也可以回忆自己所见的花园及园林工人工作的情况。课上可以通过让学生小组合作的形式进行相互交流:然后教师通过幻灯片、图片向学生展示园林工人工作的情况,并让学生用英语进行简单介绍。
教学准备:
设计教学PPT,录音机,多媒体,图片和单词卡片。
教学过程:
StepⅠ.Lead in
Leading in 【情景1】
T:Hello,boys and girls.Do you like gardening?
S1:Yes/No.
T:What is fun about growing a plant?
S2:We can enjoy the flowers.
S3:We can be relaxed.
Discuss the questions in groups.The teacher shows some pictures about gardening.Ask the students to talk for three minutes.Then let them present their talk in class.
[设计意图] 利用学生学过的内容,从询问园艺开始,轻松进入语境,进而介绍生词,图片的使用使学习更加形象直观,自然地进入谈论园艺的新话题。
Leading in 【情景2】
Greet the class.
T:Hello! Boys and girls!
Ss:Hello! Mr./Ms.XX.
Ask the students to introduce the gardening in class.
S1:I want to plant vegetables in my garden.
S2:I will water them on time.
S3:Gardening is fun!
Show the new word “gardening” and show the picture of gardening to the students.
[设计意图] 运用学生所学的知识,从谈论熟悉的入手进入新内容的学习,运用实物或图片帮助学生学习生词,直观、感性、形象。
StepⅡ.Presentation
If some students feel the passage is too long,the teacher can divide it into two or three parts.Then ask them to read them in groups.After a while, ask them to read them one by one.
(1)You must consider many things when you decide to begin gardening.
(2)You can test it to make sure.
(3)To make the soil rich enough,you can put compost in your garden.
(4)It can help keep these small animals away from your garden.
(5)Finally,don’t forget to have fun.

T:Listen to the tape and know about the main points of the passage.At the same time,fill in the blanks with the words you hear.

After listening to the passage,get the class to read it aloud.
Ss read aloud.Focus on the stressed words,pronunciation and intonation.
[设计意图] 学生训练听力之后,朗读巩固,训练学生的语音语调,培养学生运用目标语言进行交际的能力。

1.Read the text and answer the following questions.

2.Then ask some volunteers to read the passage.
3.Read the text again and write true or false in No.2 in Let’s Do It!

☆教材解读☆
1.You must consider many things when you decide to begin gardening.?
consider作动词,意思是“仔细考虑;认为;觉得”,其后常接名词、代词、动词的-ing形式、从句或带疑问词的不定式作宾语。
She is considering changing her job.
她正在考虑换工作。
【拓展】 consider常用于短语 consider…as…,意思是“把……看作……”;consider for…意为“考虑……”。
We consider our students as our children.
我们把学生当成自己的孩子。
They only want to consider for their own interest.他们只想考虑自己的利益。
2.You can test it to make sure.?
make sure意思是“确保;确信”,后常跟that引导的宾语从句,that 可省略。sure在此作形容词,意思是“确信的;有把握的”。
Make sure(that) no one miss the bus.
确保没人错过公交车。
【拓展】 sure作形容词的其他用法:
(1)be sure of/about sth 确信;对……有把握。
She is sure of success.她对成功有把握。
(2)be sure to do sth 一定,肯定。
She is sure to succeed.她一定会成功。
(3)“be sure +that从句”确信,认为……一定会。
She is sure that she will succeed.
她肯定自己会成功。
  3.To make the soil rich enough,you can put compost in your garden.?
To make the soil rich enough为动词不定式短语,在句子中作目的状语。动词不定式短语在句子中作目的状语时可位于句首,与后面的句子用逗号隔开,也可位于句末。动词不定式短语还可以在句中作主语、宾语补足语或者表语。
She works hard to make more money.
她努力工作去赚更多的钱。
To learn computer well is helpful.
学好计算机很有用。(作主语)
He wants me to help him.他想让我帮他。
My job is to look after babies.
我的职责是照顾婴儿。
4.It can help keep these small animals away from your garden.?
keep…away from意思是“使……远离”,意思相近的短语有:stay away from…,意思是“不接近……;离开……”。
Summer is coming;keep the students away from rivers.夏天马上来了,让学生远离河流。
【拓展】 与keep相关的短语有:
(1)keep back from…与……保持距离。
Keep back from the road.离马路远些。
(2)keep down压制。
Keep your head down! 不要抬头!
(3)keep off 使碰不到。
Keep off the grass! 勿踏草地!
(4)keep sb from(doing) sth 阻止某人(做)某事。
I keep him from cutting trees.
我阻止他砍树。
(5)keep on继续。
She kept on working although she was tired.她虽疲劳但仍继续工作。
(6)keep up with和……保持联系。
How many of your old school friends do you keep up with? 你和中学时的老朋友保持联系的有多少?
5.Finally,don’t forget to have fun.?
◆finally是表示顺序的副词,意思是“最后地;最终”,在列举事物或者论点时,用来引出最后一项。
First,cut up an apple.Next,mix up with some cheese.Finally,enjoy it.首先,切一个苹果。接着,拌上奶酪。最后,享受它。
  【辨析】 finally,at last,in the end
(1)finally表示某一动作发生的顺序在“最后”,侧重结果,一般没有感彩。
And finally,I would like to thank you all for coming here today.最后,我感谢大家今天的光临。
(2)at last有时可以与finally 互换,但常用于一些曲折之后,富有感彩,可以表示最终放心、最终如愿或不耐烦等。
At last,he finished the work.
最终,他完成了工作。
(3)in the end有时可以与finally 互换,常常用于经过许多的变化、困难和曲折后有了结果;还可以用来表示预测未来,其他两个词不可以。
She became an artist in the end.
最后,她成了艺术家。
◆forget是动词,意思是“忘记”,它的用法有:
(1)forget sth 忘记某事。
She forgot my address.她忘了我的地址。
(2)forget to do sth 忘记去做某事(还没做)。
He forgot to open the window.
他忘记去开窗户了。
(3)forget doing sth 忘记做过了某事(已做)。
He forgot opening the window.
他忘记开过窗户了。
【拓展】 forget的反义词是remember,它的用法和forget是一样的。
(1)remember to do sth 记得去做某事(还没做)。
(2)remember doing sth 记得做过了某事(已做)。
[设计意图] 学生通过阅读课文,了解重点内容,并且通过回答问题来巩固对课文的理解和掌握;反复朗读课文,回答课后题2, 加深对课文的理解。
StepⅥ.Complete Let’s Do It!
Ask the students to read the passage until the students can answer the questions themselves.
[设计意图] Let’s Do It! 部分中的No.1,No.2 重点是阅读教学,让学生反复朗读课文,直到回答出所有问题,No.3针对整个单元的重点单词,加以巩固练习。
StepⅦ.Task
PAIR WORK:Let’s Do It! Project!
Ask students to come to the front of the classroom,and some start walking towards others as the teacher says “go”.They must stop as the teacher says “stop”.Then they can make a new group to discuss “What do you want to plant?”
[设计意图] No.4的重点是口语练习。同学们通过随机组合来完成小组合作。以“你想种什么?”为话题,提供了一个语境完整、内容丰富的谈话内容,自然呈现本单元的核心句型,为学生进一步输出语言提供了口语示范。
