教学目标:
1.懂的有关介绍植物重要性的单词和短语:basic,pleasant,clean,cool,important,
help,beautiful,take energy from,in a word
2.懂的表示植物重要性的句型:
The air is always clean and fresh.
They help us fulfill our basic needs.
And plants cover the soil.
3.掌握介词表示目的的用法。
重点难点:

2.懂的介绍植物的重要性。
3.掌握以下重点句子:
It’s pleasant to walk in the forest.
It’s nice and cool.
Trees and other plants are important to people.
Plants also make everything look beautiful.
教学思路:
本课时的教学内容是冀教版八年级下册英语第二单元的第二课时,主要涉及介绍植物的重要性。在授课之前先让学生准备几张有关沙尘暴、水土流失、洪水、山体滑坡一类的照片。课上可以让学生通过小组合作的形式相互交流;在此基础上,教师通过幻灯片、图片向学生展示沙尘暴和洪水的照片,同时告诉学生如何用英语介绍这些活动,了解植物的重要性,保护好植物就是保护我们自己。
教学准备:
设计教学PPT,录音机,多媒体,图片,照片和单词卡片。
教学过程:
StepⅠ.Lead in
Leading in 【情景1】
T:Are there a lot of trees where you live?
Ss:Yes/No.
T:Why do we need trees/What kind of things can plants do?
S1:Help to catch the soil.
S2:Protect the earth.
Show some pictures about forests and other plants to the class.Let the students discuss the questions in groups.Then let them present their results in front of the class.
[设计意图] 利用学生学过的内容,以提问的方式开始,轻松进入语境,进而介绍生词,照片的使用使学生更感兴趣。
Leading in 【情景2】
Greet the class.
T:Hello! Boys and girls!
Ss:Hello! Mr./Ms.XX.
Ask the students to introduce the plants in our hometown in class.
S1:There are a few trees,but not many.
S2:We plant flowers,but we don’t plant trees.
S3:I think we should plant more trees.
Show the new word “storm” and show the picture of some storms to the students.
T:What should you do about them?
S4:Plant more trees.
S5:Plants can stop storms.

[设计意图] 运用学生所学的知识,从谈论熟悉的入手进入新内容的学习,运用实物或图片帮助学生学习生词,直观、感性、形象。
StepⅡ.Presentation
If some students feel the conversation is too long,the teacher can divide it into two or three parts.Then ask them to read them in groups.After a while,ask them to read the conversation one by one.
Please pay attention to the long sentences:
Medicine and clothing are also made from trees and plants.
That way,the wind and water don’t carry the soil away.
The teacher should help students to learn the conversation.
[设计意图] 分小组朗读课文,看一看哪一组读得好。在竞争中整体掌握本课内容。
StepⅢ.Listening
T:Listen to the tape with your book closed and fill in the blanks.

Ss read aloud.Focus on the stressed words,pronunciation and intonation.
[设计意图] 学生在听了细节之后,朗读巩固,训练学生的语音语调,培养学生运用目标语言进行交际的能力。
StepⅤ.Reading
1.Read the dialogue and answer the following questions.
(1)How do we feel when sitting in the shade under a tree?
(2)Is there a donut tree?
(3)What is medicine made from?
2.Then ask some volunteers to read the passage.
3.Read the text again and fill in the blanks.

☆教材解读☆
1.It’s pleasant to walk in the forest.?
pleasant在此作形容词,意思是“令人愉悦的”,常用于It is pleasant to do sth.句式,意为“做某事令人愉悦”。
【拓展】 (1)pleased也是形容词,意思是“高兴的”,常用短语 be pleased with sb/sth,表示“对……满意”。
I was very pleased with this student.
我对这个学生非常满意。
(2)pleasure为不可数名词时,意为“愉悦,愉快”。
With pleasure.乐意效劳。
(3)pleasure为可数名词时,意为“令人愉悦的活动”。
It’s a pleasure to meet you.认识你很高兴。
2.Medicine and clothing are also made from trees and plants.?
be made from意为“由……制成”,表示从成品上看不出原材料。
The wine is made from grapes.
这酒是由葡萄制成的。
【拓展】 (1)be made of意为“由……制成”,表示从成品上看出原材料。
The desk is made of wood.
这张桌子是由木头制成的。
(2)be made by意思是“被……制成”,其后接某人,表示成品是由谁制作的。
The card is made by Lucy.
这张卡片是由露西做的。
(3)be made in意思是“在……制造”,其后接地名,强调生产地点。
This bag is made in China.
这个包是中国制造的。
  (4)be made up of意思是“由……组成”,强调组成部分。
The team is made up of six workers.
这支团队是由六个工人组成的。
3.That way,the wind and water don’t carry the soil away.?
carry away意思是“带走;移走”,为固定用法。其后可接宾语,但是当代词作其宾语时,代词只能放在carry与 away之间;而当宾语是名词时,既可在中间,也可在其后。
Here are your clothes.Please carry them away.这些是你的衣服。请把它们带走。
Can you carry away the book?
=Can you carry the book away?
你能把这本书带走吗?
4.In a word,we can’t live without plants! ?
◆in a word意思是“总之;一句话”,用于引出十分简单的答案或解释。
—Did you like the food?
你喜欢这些食物吗?
—In a word,no.一句话,不喜欢。
【拓展】 in other words表示“换句话说”。
They asked her to leave—in other words she was fired.他们请她走人,也就是说,她被解雇了。
◆without是介词,意思是“无;没有”,其反义词为with,其后可接名词、代词或动名词。
She went to work without breakfast.
她没吃早饭就去上班了。
【拓展】 (1)without短语可转换为条件状语从句或并列句。
Without your help I can’t pass the exam.
=If you don’t help me,I can’t pass the exam.没有你的帮助,我不会通过考试的。
(2)without短语作定语时,可转换为定语从句。
The baby without care is very poor.
=The baby who has no care is very poor.
没人照顾的婴儿很可怜。
[设计意图] 学生通过阅读课文,了解重点内容,并且通过回答问题来巩固对课文的理解和掌握;继续朗读课文,利用填空的方式训练对课文的掌握。
StepⅥ.Complete Let’s Do It!
Ask the students to read the lesson and finish No.1 and No.2.Read for several times until the students can understand the lesson themselves.Ask the students to finish them in groups.
[设计意图] Let’s Do It! 中的No.1和No.2是针对课文内容的。认真阅读课文,训练阅读能力。同时分组教学培养合作精神,训练阅读能力。
StepⅦ.Task
Ask students to come to the front of the classroom,and some start walking towards others as the teacher says “go”.They must stop as the teacher says “stop”.Then they can do No.3 with who is standing in front of him/her.
[设计意图] No.3的重点是训练本课内容,回忆植物的作用,注意课文内容,考查学生的分析总结能力。
