教学思路：
本课时的教学内容是冀教版八年级下册英语第六单元的第五课时,主要涉及介绍梦之队的情况。在授课之前先让学生通过上网明白梦之队的一些情况。课上可以通过让学生小组合作的形式进行相互交流;同时,教师通过幻灯片、图片、照片等向学生展示一些梦之队的活动,并让学生用英语进行简单介绍,明白梦之队,明白体育精神。
教学准备：
设计教学PPT,录音机,多媒体,图片和单词卡片。
教学过程：
StepⅠ.Lead in
Leading in 【情景1】
Show some pictures about different dream teams in different countries.Then discuss the following questions:
T:Hello,boys and girls.Have you known about the dream team?
Ss:Yes./No.
T:What is the name of the dream team?
S1:The U.S.basketball team.
S2:The Canada’s ice hockey team.
S3:The China’s diving team.
T:What do you think of the dream team?
S4:Great.
S5:Wonderful.
Discuss the questions in groups.Ask the students to talk for three minutes.Then let them present their talk in class.
[设计意图]　利用学生学过的内容,从询问梦之队开始,轻松进入语境,进而介绍生词,图片的使用使学习更加形象直观,自然地进入谈论梦之队的新话题。

Greet the class.
T:Hello! Boys and girls!

Ask the students to introduce the dream team in class.
S1:It’s a symbol.

S3:It’s popular.
Show the new phrase “the dream team” and show the picture of the dream team to the students.

If some students feel the passage is too long,the teacher can divide it into two or three parts.Then ask them to read them in groups.After a while,ask them to read one by one.

(2)All of the players must work hard and do their best for the team.
(3)By working together,they perform better,and they never give up.
(4)A dream team is considered to be the greatest team in its field.

1.Time after time,these teams have won gold medals for China.?
time after time意思是“多次,反复”,相当于time and time again,用来强调动作或者事情的反复性。
I told him this problem time after time.
我一再告诉他这个问题。
【拓展】　一些由time 构成的词组:
(1)ahead of time提前。
This dish may be prepared a day ahead of time.这道菜可以提前一天准备好。
(2)all the time一直。
At least you can’t write to them all the time.至少你不能一直给他们写信。
(3)over time渐渐地。
Erosion is the work of wind or water over time.侵蚀是风或水的长时间作用下的结果。
(4)at all times随时。
One can’t govern one’s thoughts at all times.人不能始终控制得住自己的思想。
(5)at the same time同时。
They’re all talking at the same time.
他们都在同时讲话。
(6)take your time慢慢来。
Take your time to reflect before doing important things.在做重大的事情之前要慢慢地思考一下。

do one’s best意思是“尽某人的最大努力”,相当于try one’s best,构成短语:do one’s best for sth 和do one’s best to do sth。
All the teachers do their best for their students.所有老师会为学生尽自己最大的努力。
The workers did their best to finish the work.工人们尽自己最大的努力完成了工作。
【拓展】　(1)at best至多。
(2)at one’s best在某人最好的时候。
(3)make the best of充分利用。
(4)all the best一切顺利。
3.By working together,they perform better,and they never give up.?
句中give up意思是“放弃”,表示放弃努力或者放弃某事,这时give up既是及物动词词组,也是不及物动词词组。give up作及物动词词组时,后面可以接名词、代词或者动名词作宾语,不能接动词不定式。give up接名词作宾语时,既可以放后面,也可以放在两个词的中间。give up接代词作宾语时,只能放在两个词的中间。
Never give up! 永不放弃!
Don’t give up hopes.Everything is possible.不要放弃希望。一切皆有可能。
The cat was so weak,but the girl didn’t give it up.那只猫非常虚弱,但小姑娘没有放弃它。
You shouldn’t give up studying.
你不应该放弃学习。
【拓展】　give up还可以表示“把……让出去”。
The boy gave up his seat.
男孩让出了他的座位。
[设计意图]　学生通过阅读课文,明白重点内容,并且通过判断正误来巩固对课文的理解和知道;朗读课文并完成课后练习题1,明白课文重点内容。

Ask some students to come to the front of the classroom in groups and finish No.4.
[设计意图]　No.4的重点是口语表达训练,同学们通过小组合作来完成。以谈论运动为话题,课文已经给出了一些句子,提供了一个语境完整、内容丰富的话题,自然呈现本单元的核心句型,为学生进一步知道课文做了巩固。小组合作的形式,训练学生的合作意识,小组之间的竞争,激发学生的积极性。
