教学思路:
本课时的教学内容是冀教版八年级下册英语第六单元的第二课时,主要涉及介绍个人纪录的情况。在授课之前先让学生通过介绍自己或者同学的个人纪录。课上可以让学生通过小组合作的形式相互交流;教师通过幻灯片、图片向学生展示不同活动中个人纪录的照片,同时告诉学生如何用英语介绍这些活动纪录。
教学准备:
设计教学PPT,录音机,多媒体,图片,照片和单词卡片。
教学过程:
StepⅠ.Lead in
Leading in 【情景1】
T:Hello,boys and girls.Have you ever taken part in some competitions?
Ss:Yes/No.
T:What competition did you win?
S1:Racing.
S2:Jumping.
T:How do you feel when you win?
S3:Excited.
S4:Happy.
S5:Great.
Show some pictures about different sports to the class.Let the students discuss the questions in groups.Then let them present their results in front of the class.
[设计意图] 利用学生学过的内容,以提问的方式开始,轻松进入语境,进而介绍生词,照片使学生感兴趣。
Leading in 【情景2】
Greet the class.
T:Hello! Boys and girls!
Ss:Hello! Mr./Ms.XX.
Ask the students to introduce your own record in class.
S1:I had a running record.
S2:I can jump highest at school.
S3:Sorry.
Show the new word “record” and show the picture of sports records to the students.
T:What do you feel when you break a record?
S4:Excited.
S5:Happy.
T:What other record do you know?
S6:There are many special records.

[设计意图] 运用学生所学的知识,从谈论熟悉的入手进入新内容的学习,运用实物或图片帮助学生学习生词,直观、感性、形象。
StepⅡ.Presentation
If some students feel the passage is too long,the teacher can divide it into two or three parts.Then ask them to read them in groups.After a while,ask them to read the passage one by one.
Please pay attention to the long sentences:
(1)Mine flew farther than Jenny’s airplane,but Brain’s flew the farthest.
(2)It was 60 cm long,40 cm wide and almost 21 cm thick!
(3)Some records are hard to believe!
[设计意图] 分小组朗读课文,看一看哪一组读得好。在竞争中整体知道本课内容。

After listening to the tape,get the class to read it aloud.
Ss read aloud.Focus on the stressed words,pronunciation and intonation.
[设计意图] 学生在听了细节之后,朗读巩固,训练学生的语音语调,培养学生运用目标语言进行交际的能力。

1.Read the text and answer the following questions.
(1)How large was Sandra’s book?
(2)How heavy is the train?
(3)What does Li Ming like reading?
2.Then ask some volunteers to read the passage.
3.Read the text again and fill in the blanks.

☆教材解读☆
1.Mine flew farther than Jenny’s airplane,but Brian’s flew the farthest.?
句中farther是副词far的比较级,意思是“更远”,表示两者之间距离的比较;farthest是副词far的最高级,意思是“最远的”,表示三者或者三者以上距离的比较。
My brother jumped farther than me.
我哥哥跳得比我远。
My brother jumped(the)farthest among us.我哥哥是我们之中跳得最远的。
【拓展】 farther可以表示抽象意义,意思是“更深一步,更深远”。
We can’t understand farther.
我们不能理解得更深远。
2.It was 60 cm long,40 cm wide and almost 21 cm thick! ?
在英语中, 表示长度、宽度、厚度、高度、深度等,可以用“数词 +计量单位+ 形容词(long/wide/thick/tall/high/deep)”结构。
Lucy is 160 cm tall.露西高160厘米。
The wall is 10 cm thick.墙有10 厘米厚。
The well is 8 meters deep.井有8 米深。
3.Some records are hard to believe!?
句中结构是“主语 +be动词+ 形容词+to do sth.”,在这一结构中主语是后面不定式的逻辑宾语。这句话可以转化为“It +be动词+形容词+to do sth.”,也就是说这句话还可以是:It is hard to believe some records!
Math is easy to learn.
=It is easy to learn math.数学很容易学。
[设计意图] 学生通过阅读课文,明白重点内容,并且通过回答问题来巩固对课文的理解和知道;朗读课文并填空,明白课文重点句式。
StepⅥ.Complete Let’s Do It!
Ask the students to read the lesson and finish No.1,No.2.Read for several times until the students can understand the lesson themselves.Ask the students to finish them in groups.
[设计意图] Let’s Do It! 中的No.1、No.2都是针对课文内容的,认真阅读课文,训练阅读能力。No.2强调课文中出现的重点单词的形式变化,同时分组教学培养合作精神,训练阅读能力。
StepⅦ.Task
Ask students to come to the front of the classroom,and some start walking towards others as the teacher says “go”.They must stop as the teacher says “stop”.Then they can make a new group to finish No.4.
[设计意图]  Project的重点是训练本课内容的拓展延伸,注意课文内容,考查学生的分析总结能力,尤其是口语表达,同时明白更多有关体育运动的知识。
StepⅧ.Exercises
T:Now,look at the sentences with some missing words.Please use your own words to fill them.
