Lesson 45 Let’s Sort Garbage!
教学目标:
1.懂得运用表示垃圾分类的词或短语:empty,litter,do with,go for a walk,take out
2.掌握有关介绍垃圾分类的句子:There is more paper than plastic.And the most amount is paper.A lot of glass is broken.
3.进一步掌握代词it 的用法。
重点难点:
1.掌握一些介绍垃圾分类的单词:sort,waste,find,throw,collect
2.运用所学知识介绍自己掌握到的关于垃圾分类的情况。
3.掌握重点句式:They need to throw away only one small bag of garbage!People throw too much away.It is a waste to use paper only on one side.When I finish fixing this car,I will give it to my little cousin,Debbie.
教学思路:
本课时的教学内容是冀教版八年级下册英语第八单元的第三课时,主要介绍垃圾分类。在授课之前先让学生想一想学生自己还有同学参加过的垃圾分类活动。课上可以通过让学生小组合作的形式进行相互交流;然后教师通过幻灯片、图片向学生展示不同的垃圾分类情况,并让学生用英语简单介绍出自己进行垃圾分类的过程。
教学准备:
设计教学PPT,录音机,多媒体,图片和单词卡片。
教学过程:
StepⅠ.Lead in
Leading in 【情景1】
Show some pictures about sorting garbage.Let the students answer the following questions:
T:Hello,boys and girls.What do you do with your garbage?
S1:Throw away.
S2:Sort garbage.
S3:Reuse garbage.
T:Why do you do this?
Ss:Protect the environment.
T:What kinds of things can be recycled and reused?
S4:Paper.
S5:Plastic things.
Discuss the questions in groups.Ask the students to talk for three minutes.Then let them present their talk in class.
[设计意图] 利用学生学过的内容,从询问如何处理垃圾开始,轻松进入语境,进而介绍生词,图片的使用使学习更加形象直观,自然地进入谈论垃圾分类的新话题。
Leading in 【情景2】
Greet the class.
T:Hello! Boys and girls!
Ss:Hello! Mr./Ms.XX.
Ask the students to introduce sorting garbage in class.
S1:It’s necessary.
S2:It’s useful.
Show the new words and show the picture of the sorting garbage to the students.
T:What do you do with the garbage?
S4:Just throw out.
S5:Sort garbage.
S6:Reuse garbage.

[设计意图] 运用学生所学的知识,从谈论熟悉的入手进入新内容的学习,运用实物或图片帮助学生学习生词,直观、感性、形象。
StepⅡ.Presentation
If some students feel the passage is too long,the teacher can divide it into four parts.Then ask them to read them in groups.After a while,ask them to read them loudly.
(1)What do you do with your garbage?
(2)Once,I cut my foot on a piece of broken glass.
(3)They need to throw away only one small bag of garbage!
(4)People throw too much away.
(5)It is a waste to use paper only on one side.
(6)When I finish fixing this car,I will give it to my little cousin,Debbie.
Please pay attention to the long word:garbage.
[设计意图] 小组合作朗读课文。展示垃圾分类的图片,使同学们感受环保工作的重要性,激发朗读的欲望。在互帮互助的小组合作中训练课文重点单词、短语、句式表达。
StepⅢ.Listening
T:Listen to the tape with your book closed and know about the main idea of the lesson.At the same time,fill in the blanks.
1.How did Jenny and Danny feel after they sorted the garbage?
2.What did Danny find in the garbage?

[设计意图] 加深同学们对整体的掌握,学生带着问题有目的地倾听,容易把握内容回答问题。
StepⅣ.Post-listening Activities
After listening to the passage,get the class to read it aloud.
T:Now let’s listen to the tape and read the passage.
Ss read aloud.Focus on the stressed words,pronunciation and intonation.
[设计意图] 学生训练听力之后,朗读巩固,训练学生的语音语调,培养阅读能力和理解能力。
StepⅤ.Reading
1.Read the text and answer the following questions.
(1)What is the least amount in the garbage?
(2)What is the effect to leave broken glass on the ground?
2.Then ask some volunteers to read the passage.
3.Read the text again and do the exercises in No.1 in Let’s Do It!

Ask the students to read the passage again and again so that they can finish No.1 and No.2. by themselves.
[设计意图] Let’s Do It! 部分中的 No.1 重点是阅读教学,主要针对课文的内容,通过练习题又一次巩固了课文内容, No.2考查本单元学到的重点代词it的用法。
StepⅦ.Task
GROUP WORK:Project
Ask students to come to the front of the classroom,and some start walking towards others as the teacher says “go”.They must stop as the teacher says “stop”.Then they can make a new group with the student who is standing in front of him/her.Ask students to talk about sorting the garbage.
[设计意图] 小组合作探究。以“垃圾分类”为话题,提供了一个语境完整、内容丰富的话题,自然呈现本单元的核心句型,为学生进一步输出语言提供了口语示范。
