本课是第一单元的第五课时,主要涉及如何介绍自己的老师。学生先预习本篇课文大意,并将自己的疑难问题写下来, 小组交流时解决。小组合作总结知识点, 教师点拨, 学生完成知识巩固。鼓励学生乐于模仿, 敢于开口, 积极参与, 主动请教。帮助学生树立学习英语的自信心, 并体会学习英语的乐趣。

Leading in 【情景1】
1 .Instruct the students to discuss the questions in “THINK ABOUT IT” with a partner.
2. Ask some of the students to share the results from the teacher interview they did for homework.
3. Li Ming interviewed his teacher and wrote a report. Let’s listen and find out what he learned about his teacher, Ms. Liu.
[设计意图] 教师用英语简要介绍自己,让学生有所了解,展开问答练习。可让学生做有关老师的简要描述,由此引入本课中李明的报告。

T: You like him very much, yes? Me, too! Would you like to talk to him? We’ve learned how to interview someone. Imagine you’ve interviewed Zhu Jun. And then you are asked to introduce him to your class. Do you know what we want to know about him?
Guide the students to know the way of introducing someone with some questions.
(1) Where does he live? (He works in CCTV, so he lives in Beijing.)
(2) What does he do? (He is a good host of “Art Life” on TV.)
(3) What is he good at? (He is good at hosting.)
(4) How do you like him? (He always smiles and I like him very much.)
[设计意图] 描述人物是本单元的重点,出示著名主持人的照片,让学生进行讨论,可以提前设计好几个问题。
Step Ⅱ. Listening
T: Li Ming will give his report. He will introduce a teacher, Ms. Liu. Listen for the first time and get the answer to this question: How many years has Ms. Liu taught?
Play the audiotape a second time and ask the students to complete Exercise 1 in “Let’s Do It!”.
The teacher checks the answers.
[设计意图] 放两次录音,第一次问题设计简单些,第二次的练习学生需要听得更全面,难度循序渐进。
Step Ⅲ. Reading
1. T: Read the text by yourselves, please, and try to get the information about Ms. Liu as much as possible. Ask me when you can’t understand.
Instruct the students to read Lesson 5 loudly, and fill in the chart in Exercise 2.
The students should check and correct their answers in groups.
2. Explain some language points.

1. I talked to someone very special—our English teacher, Ms. Liu.?
◆ someone 是不定代词,作主语时,谓语动词用第三人称单数形式,同义词为somebody,常用在肯定句中。someone 由形容词修饰时,形容词应置于其后。其他不定代词的用法和someone 的用法基本相同。
Someone is in the music room.有人在音乐室里。
◆ special意为“独特的,特别的”,此处修饰someone作后置定语。
2. I feel lucky to have her as my English teacher.?
◆ feel lucky to do sth. 相当于be lucky to do sth. 表示“做某事感到幸运”。lucky的副词形式是luckily, 意为“幸运地”。
◆ have…as 拥有……作为。
3. She started teaching seven years ago.?
◆ start 和 begin 都有“开始”的意思,begin to do /doing相当于start to do /doing。当主语是无生命的事物时,后面要接to do sth.。
It started to rain when I got home yesterday.昨天当我到家的时候开始下雨了。
◆ “时间段+ago”意为“……前”,多与一般过去时连用。
They lived here ten years ago.他们十年前住在这里。

encourage sb.to do sth.意为“鼓励某人做某事”。
When things aren’t going well, he encourages me not to give up.事情进展不顺的时候, 他鼓励我不要放弃。

(Show a photo of a family)
T: Look at this photo, please. It’s a photo of the famous host, Li Yong. Who is the lady besides him? Yes, his wife. And this girl is their daughter. I can call Li Yong “Mr. Li”. Do you know what we can call his wife? Right! “Mrs. Li”. So what about his daughter?
(Let the Ss try to guess. Maybe some of them know the answer. Then guide them to be aware of the differences of the three words.)
T: Good. So let’s summarize the usage of the three words: No matter he is married or not, we use “Mr.” before his family name. But we only call a married woman “Mrs.…”.Then what about a girl, an unmarried one? Yes, very good. We call a girl “Miss…”.We can call a lady “Ms.…” if we don’t know whether she is married or not.
[设计意图] 本环节讲解Mr./Ms./Mrs./Miss的用法, 这在情景交际中很有用。
