Lesson 13 I love autumn

Step Ⅰ. Lead in
Leading in 【情景1】
1. Introduce the topic of this unit: Families Celebrate Together. When there is a big festival in China, the family members always get together to celebrate it. Then what festivals are in October in China? What festivals do you know except Mid-Autumn Festival? Help the students to respond in an appropriate way.
2. T: Do you know of any autumn festivals in other countries?
Ask the students to discuss for three minutes. Then let them present the answers in class.
[设计意图] 课前学生搜集国内外一些秋天的节日,课上展开交流,引入本课主题。

Show the pictures of moon cakes with PPT.
T: What are they?
Ss: Moon cakes.
T: Right. They are delicious. When do you usually eat moon cakes?

S2: During the Mid-Autumn Festival.
T: Well done. What Chinese festivals are also in autumn?
The students discuss in groups.
T: Do you know of any autumn festivals in other countries?

Teach the new words and phrases. Make sure the Ss can read them correctly.

1. celebrate
作及物动词,意为“庆祝;庆贺”,后加名词或代词作宾语。其名词形式是celebration。
How do you celebrate Spring Festival? 你们怎样庆祝春节?
2. wonder
作及物动词,意为“好奇;想知道”,后加名词、代词或宾语从句作宾语,也可接“疑问词+动词不定式”。
I wonder why they didn’t come. 我想知道他们为什么没有来。
They wonder what to do next. 他们想知道下一步做什么。
3. however
however放在句首或句中,后面用“,”与其他句子成分隔开;however用的场合比较正式,多用于书面语,而but常用于口语,语气比however强些,一般位于所引出的分句之前。
We tried our best, however, we lost the game. 我们尽力了,但还是输了比赛。
[设计意图] 通过图片学习生词,能更好地理解生词的含义,有效地记忆单词。
Step Ⅲ. Listening
Listen to the tape and then answer these questions:

1. When I was a little boy, my grandma told me the story of Chang’e.?
◆when的意思是“当……的时候”,引导时间状语从句。当从句在前时,主句和从句用逗号隔开。
◆tell sb. a story的意思是“给某人讲故事”。
2. In the story, a beautiful lady named Chang’e lives on the moon.?
named Chang’e是过去分词短语作定语,修饰名词lady,因为和修饰的名词是被动关系,所以用过去分词。其中named与called或the name of同义。
They live in a city called Shijiazhuang. 他们住在一个叫石家庄的城市。
3. We will have a seven-day holiday!?
seven-day为合成形容词,注意其中的名词不能用复数形式。
That ten-year-old boy can speak three languages.那个十岁的男孩能说三种语言。

thank you for sth. / doing sth.因(做)某事而感谢某人。

5. I will go to my grandparents’ home.?
grandparents’ 是名词所有格,其中“‘”表示“……的”。名词所有格的用法:
单数名词词尾加“s”,复数名词词尾没有s,要加“‘s”。

(2) 若名词是复数形式,且以字母s结尾,只加“‘”。
