1) What about …? 这是常用的一句口语。实际上是一个省略
句,完全形式为:What is it about ...? 意思是“(关于)... 怎
么样?”,相当于__________?后接 _____、_____、______。
常用来表示征求对方意见或向对方提出建议。eg:
晚饭后出去散步怎么样?

loudly adv. “响亮地、大声地” 既可与发音器官连用,还可以与 ring ,knock 等动词连用。loudly 放在动词前后均可,含有“喧闹”或者“嘈杂”的含义。 He does not talk loudly or laugh loudly in public.在公共场合他既不大声说话,也不大声笑

too…to…前面有never,not,only,but等词时,或出现too …not to do的双重否定时,否定词与不定式中的否定意义结合起来构成了肯定意义。

sound用作连系动词讲,意思是“听起来”,其后常跟形容词。

好像(seem),变了仨( get, turn, become)。

word by word意思是“逐字地”,在此by表示速率,表示“逐
个”,“逐批”的意思。。如:

6. The more you read, the faster you’ll be.
“the?+比较级,the+比较级”结构,表示两个过程按比例同时增加,意思是“越…就越…”。这种结构中第一个the+比较级相当于由if 引导的条件状语从句,第二个the+比较级为主句。因此这种结构中的谓语动词一般情况下:主句用将来时态,从句用一般现在时态(代替将来时态)。如:
The warmer the weather is, the better I will feel.
