Oliver Twist, an orphan, lives in an workhouse with other boys. They are hungry all the time because they are fed on very little food everyday. One day, the boys pick out Oliver Twist to ask the warden for more food.But on hearing the asking, the warden hits him and reports it to the manager, who later locks him in a room and puts up a notice offering a reward to anybody who would employ Oliver.
