am/is/are +v.ing现在进行时was/were + v.ing过去进行时key sentencesThe Past Continuous Tense1. 定义：过去进行时主要表示过去某个时刻或过去一段时间正在进行的动作。
常与表示过去的时间状语如then，at that time，at this time yesterday，a moment ago等连用。
2.构成: 主语+was/were+doing sth（+表过去的时间状语）。
For example：
昨天下了一整天雨。
It was raining all day yesterday.
昨天下午四点到六点他们在打篮球。
They were playing basketball from 4：00 to 6:00.
3.句式的变型：
(1)肯定句：主语+was/were+doing sth.当主语是第一人称单数和第三人称单数时，用was，主语是其他人称时，都用were。
那时我在读报纸。
I was reading newspaper at that time.
(2)否定句：主语+wasn't/weren't+doing sth.
我看到他时，他没在踢足球。
He wasn't playing football when I saw him.
(3)一般疑问句及回答:Ｗas/Ｗere+主语+doing sth？
肯定回答形式是Yes，主语+was/were.
否定回答形式是No，主语+wasn't/weren't.
那时他在唱歌吗？是的，他是。／不，他不是。
---Was he singing then?
---Yes, he was./No,he wasn' t.
(4)特殊疑问句：What was/were +主语＋doing?
