The world of our senses Grammar and usage 名词:表示人或事物的名称的词叫名词。
名词的句法作用:名词在句中主要作主语、宾语、表语和同位语。另外还可以作定语、状语。
在句子中起名词作用的句子叫名词从句 (Noun Clauses)
名词从句的功能相当于名词词组, 它在复合句中能担任主语、宾语、表语、同位语等
因此根据它在句中不同的语法功能,名词从句又可分别称为主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句和同位语从句。相关概念 名词性从句

It happens that…2.宾语从句:从句在句中充当宾语成分(可以作谓语动词、介词、不定式等非谓语动词的宾语)1) They know that the habit will kill them.

4) He made it clear to the public that he did an important and necessary job.
5) I find it necessary that we should do the homework.I doubt whether he will succeed.

He told us that he felt ill.?3. 表语从句:从句在句中充当表语成分,一般放在连系动词之后。
作用:对主语进行解释说明。连接词:
that / whether /as if / as though
( if 不引导表语从句)
连接代词:
who / whom / whose / which / what
连接副词:
when / where / why / how / because The question is whether we can rely on him.

The question is how he did it.?表语从句4. 同位语从句:从句在句中充当同位语成分, 其一般跟在一些抽象名词(idea; belief ;effect; truth; problem; news 等) 后面, 对名词作进一步解释说明。同位语从句常用 that引导或用连接副词when / where / why / how / whether。 Sydney kept his promise that he would always do anything he could for Lucie to make sure of her happiness.1) The idea that computers can recognize human voices surprises many people.

三、关于引导词that 有时候为了平衡句子结构,避免头重脚轻,或者是为了强调,常用it来做形式主语,把that引导的主语从句放到后面。
It is certain that she will do well in her exam.
It is reported that China has sent another man-made earth satellite into orbit.
It’s a pity that we can’t go. 特点:无任何实际意义,也不作任何句子成分,只是起连接作用,且常常省略。
I think (that) English is easy to learn.
You said (that) you like your mother very much.关于that引导的宾语从句在某些复合宾语的句式中,也常用it作形式宾语,把that引导的宾语从句放在后面。
Who will see to it that everything will be ready before Mr. President comes?特殊情况that 在以下情况不省略:
1. Make, find, feel, consider等这些词的后面用it
作形式宾语时,that不省略。
I find it necessary that we should study English.
2. 及物动词后有两个宾语从句时,第二个that不
可以省略。
He said (that) he would go there the next day
and that his family wouldn’t go there.3. 与动词相隔离的宾语从句一般不省略that.
The teacher tells us very often that we should study hard.
4. that引导的宾语从句放在句首时,为了表示强调,that不可以省略。
That he has done such a thing I can’t believe.that 引导表语从句,用来表示某一事实,也能表示某人的观点,意见,要求和希望等。
The problem is that her parents couldn’t accept me.
关于that引导的表语从句如果句子的主语是suggestion, order,
advice等名词时,后面that引导的表语从句
用“(should)+动词原形”。
His suggestion is that we (should) finish the work at once.
Your advice is that we (should) do the homework first.特点:对前面的名词作进一步的说
明,无实际意义,不作任何成分,但
不可以省略。

prize excited all of us.关于that引导的同位语从句四、同位语从句和定语从句的区别1. 定语从句是先行词的修饰语,它不涉及先行词的具体内容。定语从句中that不但起连接作用,而且在定语从句中充当一个句子成分,充当从句的宾语成分时可省略。2. 同位语从句对中心词的内容作进一
步的解释和说明,表明中心词的具
体内容。引导同位语从句的that 在同位语从句中不做任何成分, 只
