讲授新课 1.New words.“map” 教师出示中国地图的图片，老师问“What is this?” “right”正确的；右边“country”出示中国和美国的图片，引导说出county 2.学习方位名词老师在ppt第4页出示若干张西湖风景的图片，提问学生。 T：Do you know this place? Ss：Yes. It’s the West Lake. T：Ok. Can you tell me something about it? Where is the West Lake? Ss：Yes, It's…(全班学生可以自由回答)根据其他地点学习其他方位。 3.Let’s play.最佳小导游。 一名学生提问“Where's...”,另一名学生快速指出所在位置并英语表达其位置，一分钟内说得最多最快的学生为最佳小导游。 4.Game!出现方位单词读并且指方向，出现其他单词大声读出来！ 5.老师出示Simon的图片，向学生提问：“Who is he?” “Where is he from? 引导回答:“Simon’s from New York ,the US .” 老师出示纽约，休斯顿，旧金山图片，老师问Which one is New York?6.Listen and match. 听录音，把地名与相应的方位相连。 7.Listen again and answer.Work in groups. Answer the questions. Where’s New York / San Francisco / Houston?学生再次听录音，并通过观察地图，回答教师的问题。8.Listen,read and imitate. Ss:It’s a map of China.学生分组读单词，男女生读，逐个读多种方法操练单词。 学生找出纽约图片，然后学习旧金山和休斯顿的读法。 通过多种形式的操练可以巩固单词，记忆更加深刻。 学生的学习兴趣会因为机械重复教学会产生厌倦。我根据学生模仿力、表现欲强等特点，紧扣学习目标，在此环节开展游戏教学活动，寓教于乐，活跃课堂气氛，并加深学生对方位词的记忆和理解。 学生通过第一遍听录音，已经能整体感知课文。扫清了单词障碍，听力练习方位表达变得很容易。
练习操练 1.Look and say.观察美国地图，回答问题。1).Where is Washington.D.C? 2).Where is Houston? 3).Where is San Francisco?2.Group work. 小组为单位，在本组内分享自己喜欢的城市----My favourite place。 学生做精彩的分享，教师适时指导。 通过分享的活动，进一步练习某个城市方位的问答。并通过开放的活动设计，让学生拓展对话的范围，掌握更多自己感兴趣的城市。

教学反思 本课教学重点是复习、现固、拓展学生已学的英语知识，进一步夯实学生在五年级学过的句型: Where is..?It’s in the east/west/ north/south of.该句型的练习难度不大，更要倾向于学困生的操练，重点从四个方位词突破。本课对于方位词的突破是根据一些真实的，学生熟悉的话题讨论的。如:讨论一个自己最喜欢的城市或了解的城市。如此既能够给学困生更多展示的机会，又能让语言结构得以充分的拓展运用，充分激发学生的学习语言的兴趣。 但是本课教师介绍的相关地名、风景太局限，因借此大量拓展学生的外国和中国地理知识，让学生乐于接触外国文化，同时增强祖国意识。
