Good morning , everyone.My name is Liu Yan. I`m very happy and excited to stand here.It’s my great honor to share my teaching ideas with you. My teaching topic is Unit 8 How do you make a banana milk shake.There are totally 9 parts.
Now, let’s go to the first part.
Part 1 Analysis of teaching material
In this class, we are going to learn the first period of Unit 8 How doyou mmake a banana milk shake,which is from Go For It Grade 8 of people’s education Press in English.In this unit,there are 3 parts,including Section A,Section B,and self Check.And my class is section A from 1a to 1c.This is the frist part of the whole unit. So it’s very important for students to learn.It not only includes some basic new words, but also has the basic task for students.In this period,students need to learn how to make food following the instructions by learning how to make a banana milk shake.
Part 2 Analysis of students
The students in Junior 8 has learnt some fruit and drinks before. They also learn a little about imperative sentence.But they can’t keep their minds long focusing on one thing.So in class we learn the instruction by making food.We do oral practice , work in pairs and groups. They can learn a lot from all kinds of activities.

Step 1 Warming up and Lead-in
1. T: What’s your favorite fruit?(show some pictures of fruit)
S: apple, orange, strawberry, banana, pear, watermelon.
2. T:What’s your favorite drink? (show some pictures of drink)
S: Cola/ milk/ juice/ tea/milk shake…
T: Great, those taste nice.
Step 2 New words and phrases
Do you like milk shake ?Can you make a banana milk shake?
What do we need?(show some pictures :blender, milk, banana, knif,ice-cream)
Teach the new words and ask students to recitce.
T:How can we make the banana milk shake?
(show some activities: peel, cut up ,put into, turn on , pour into , drink)
Make students understand the meaning and teach the new phrases.
Practice: Show some pictures and ask students speak the words and phrases in English.
Step 3 Do 1a.
Ask Ss to write the names of the actions. Choose the correct words. Ask Ss to fill in the blanks on their own. Then check the answers.
Step 4 Role-play
The teacher make the banana milk shake , ask one students to describe the process.
(First......,next...., then...,finally).If the student is right ask him or her to make it, some other describe the process. After finish, share the milk shake each other.
Step 4 lisening 1b Listen and put the instructions in order.
Play the recording and check the answers. Ask students to recite the conversation at once.
Ⅳ. Game
1. Show some pictures of the process out of order. Let Ss try their best to say how to make a banana milk shake.
Step 5 Homework: Write a recipe for your favorite milk shake.(first, next, then, … finally…)
Cook it for your family.
