Unit 2 Care for hair
教材分析
This is the second unit of the first module of the textbook. And students just start their high school life. It is important to stimulate and strengthen their interest in learning English. The first lesson should be interesting and not so difficult, to help them review a little bit and build up the confidence.
This book includes three modules, The Human Body, Colorful Life and Food for Thought, designed to help students get better understanding of their own body and the healthy life style.
This unit will teach students the knowledge on hairstyles and present the importance of hair care. Students can also learn how to make appointment and get appointment details while communicating with others.

By the end of this unit, students will be able to know:

Period 1 Introduction & Reading
Step 1 Warm-up
1. Show some words about hair and hair care, then ask students: Do you know what does they mean?

2. Show some new words and pictures about hair care: hairdryer, tower, comb, hairbrush, shampoo, conditioner.
3. Show students some different hair styles.
Ask students: Look at the following hairstyles and see which one you like. Use adjectives to describe the hairstyle.
Then show some pictures of short/long/curly/straight hairstyles and let students use their own words to describe them, such as cute, elegant, energetic, younger, active.
4. Let students have a group Discussion.
Are you satisfied with your hairstyle?
Do you think one’s hairstyle is important? Why or why not?
How often do you wash your hair?
How often do you have you hair style cut?

首先用图片展示一些与头发、护发相关得词汇,让学生猜测和联想,进行头脑风暴,为课文阅读预热。然后给学生介绍一些不同明星的发型,吸引学生兴趣。最后通过一个小组讨论,让学生结合自身实际回答问题,活跃课堂气氛,锻炼学生口头表达能力。
Step 2 Before reading
1. Introduce different face shapes to students and tell them hairstyles depend on face shapes.
New words: square, long, short, heart-shaped, oval.

Look at the pictures below. What are the shapes of their faces? Match the words and pictures.

You are asked to do a pair work with your deskmates. You should act as a hairdresser and a customer, then show it to us.
Hairdressers:
1. What sort of hairstyle is best for your customer?
2. how to keep his hair healthy?
3. Try your best to offer as much service as possible.
Customers:
1. Listen carefully to your hairdresser who are making advice on you and give some comments.
2. Express your requirements clearly.
3. You should respond to your hairdresser’s persuasion.

辨析:
fit: 仅指鞋袜,衣服,帽子等尺寸合适,不大不小
suit: 指穿戴,发式,服装款式,颜色等与某人的肤色气质,年龄等相符或合适。它的使用规则是“物-人”,即:“某物suit某人或某人的肤色年龄”因此它的宾语一般是人 。
match: 指两个同类物体,具有同一性质的东西在颜色款式,质量等方面相匹配。因此,它一般是“物-物”,“人-人”关系。
