I want to help you achieve what you want in your lives and careers! Success! P43What are the six tips for being successful?
How do you understand ‘the ladder of success’ and ‘Success is yours for the taking’?
Some people succeed, while others do not. This is because some people possess certain
qualities that others do not have. The first
thing you must remember is that in order to
succeed, it is almost compulsory that you be
optimistic. You must have faith in yourself
and in your ability to succeed, otherwise you
are not very likely to win, or even to try. Having proper motivation is not optional—
it is another key to success. You need to work
with every fibre of your being. When you
really have a thirst for success, you put your
performance under the microscope to make
sure that every little thing you do works
towards your goal.
Another quality that helps people succeed is
the ability to do and think about things in
new and different ways. Most successful
people are not as conventional as the people
around them.Where others see failure, they see possibility.
Where others see a lack, they see a surplus.
Where others see a closed door, they see an
open window. They are more than just
optimistic—they see the world in a different
way than others do, and do things in a
different way.
To become successful, you may find it
important to read about successful people,
to see how they have achieved success. Their
stories will encourage and inspire as you
climb the ladder of success.
While everyone’s path to success is different, many successful people have the same drive and the same qualities. While you may not be the next Bill Gates, for example, by learning from people like him you may become just as, if not more famous, because of your success.
Practising is just as important if you want to succeed, because practice makes perfect. Practise every day at whatever career you are in, and by doing so, you will see yourself and
your business begin to grow. This will also help you feel confident about what you do, and make other people believe in you as well. Your colleagues will be happy to work with you, and your boss will give you more responsibility.
Finally, to become a successful person, you need to be able to look people in the eye and be honest.
Success is yours for the taking! Cheers!

Look people in the eye and be honestTips for being successfulHow to build the ladder of success?
It’s great to have a dream, but to achieve your goal, you are called to build a ladder to it. On the ladder you must have steps that will support the weight of all you hope to achieve. The first step on your dream ladder must be determination and, the second, devotion. The third step is discipline! The fourth is attitude! To be successful you must decide exactly what you want to complete, and then decide to pay the price to get it.The ladder of successattitudedevotiondisciplinedeterminationSuccess is yours for the taking!

If you combine your own strength with that of at least another person, your total productivity, effort, creativity, and abilities become ten times greater. This is called “butterfly effect”, where just one good idea can generate amazing results that a single individual would not be able to achieve by themselves. Choose one of Napoleon Hill’s quotes to replace the underlined sentences and add a title to the passage.
Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen exciting desire which goes beyond everything.
b. The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat. More practicec. Every adversity(hardship), every failure, and every heartache carries with it the Seed of an equivalent (equal)or a greater Benefit.
d. No man ever achieved worthwhile success, who did not at one time or another find himself with at least one foot hanging well over the brink of failure.
Title: __________________________
The motivation to succeed comes from the burning desire to achieve a purpose. Napoleon Hill wrote: ‘Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.’
A young man asked Socrates the secret to success. Socrates told the young man to meet him near the river the next morning. They met. Socrates asked the young man to walk with him toward the river. When the water got up to their neck, Socrates took the young man by surprise and ducked him into the water. The boy struggled to get out but Socrates was strong and kept him there until the boy started turning blue. Socrates pulled his head out of the water and first thing the young man did was to gasp and take a deep breath of air. Socrates asked, "What did you want the most when you were there?" The boy replied, "Air." Socrates said, "That is the secret to success. When you want success as badly as you wanted the air, then you will get. There is no secret. A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishment. Just like a small fire cannot give much heat, a weak desire cannot produce great results.
The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat. ---Napoleon Hill
Title: Burning Desire to Achieve Purpose Task Two: Read the article about Napoleon Hill and place the subtitles (there is an extra one) in the proper blanks.
1. _______________________
Napoleon Hill can be considered one of the “fathers” of the modern genre of self-help and personal-success literature. He was one of the most successful writers, teachers and motivational speakers of his time.
2. _______________________
Hill’s life was not easy. There was nothing grand about his beginnings. He was born to a poor family on the Pound River in Wise County, Virginia in 1883. When he was 10 years old, his mother passed away and he was left in the care of his father. Two years later his father remarried, but the family’s financial situation did not improve much.
So at the age of 13 Hill found his first job as a “mountain reporter” for a local newspaper. Over time he saved money from his job as a writer and was accepted into law school. However, as he could not finance his way through college, he was forced to leave law school and return to work as a reporter. What had seemed as another setback turned out to be a great opportunity.3. _______________________
When Hill was 25 years old, he was given an assignment to interview and write a series of articles about the richest and most famous men of the time. One of these men was Andrew Carnegie. This encounter changed Hill’s life forever. During this fateful encounter Hill asked Carnegie, the regular question, “To what do you attribute your success?” and received an answer that he was not expecting.
Carnegie challenged the young writer to interview 500 of the wealthiest people in the world and find out what it was about their personality that made them successful.
Hill eagerly accepted the challenge and met with some of the great people of his era such as: Henry Ford, William Taft, Thomas Edison, John Rockefeller, Woodrow Wilson, F.W. Woodworth, and Alexander Graham Bell.4. _______________________
What seemed like an easy assignment turned into 20 years of profound research! After studying the similarities between all the successful people, Napoleon Hill was able to deduce 13 principles that they employed to create wealth. The conclusions of Hill’s work were published in “The Philosophy of Achievement”- the world’s first philosophy of individual achievement. Some of his best-sellers:
“The Law of Success” , in 1928
“Think and Grow Rich”, in 1937
“How to Sell Your Way Through Life” , in1939
“How to Raise Your Own Salary” , in 1953
“You Can Work Your Own Miracles”, published after his death (1970).
Napoleon Hill has not only left us a step-by-step guide on how to create wealth. He proved with his own life that his theory works and that an ordinary man from the street can achieve any goal.Task Three: What inspiration or attitude or success habits have you got from the article?
