Carnival
教材分析
This module uses Carnival as the topic, introduces the history, development and types as well as people’s activity, diet, and custom, guiding students to lenovo or discuss China's holiday. By learning this module, enable students to master relevant festivals and food vocabulary, sentence patterns, which not only help them understand foreign Carnival, but also have further understanding for our holiday, expanding social and cultural background, increasing international cultural knowledge. Make the students consolidate the way of expressing likes, review and master the usage of passive voice.

This is when Americans remember the hard times when they first arrived in the country.
Have you dressed up in special clothes?
The sounds and sights change from one country to another but the excitement is the same everywhere.
As time passed, however, the carnival period was extended, so that it began just after Christmas.
For weeks on end people walked round the street wearing masks, doing what they wanted without being recognized.
Ordinary people could pretend to be rich and important, while famous people could have romantic adventures in secret.
Many crimes went unpunished.
If they broke the laws, they were put into prison for up to two years.
There must be a million people here.
With the passing of time, the white inhabitants of the island began to take part in the carnival, too.

The Spring Festival
The Spring Festival, also known as the lunar New Year, is the most important traditional festival in China. According to Chinese legends, Nian was originally the name of a monster beast. On the eve of the Spring Festival, it is a folk custom to stay up late or even all night.A get-together banquet is usually a must for every Chinese family. The most popular food is jiaozi, or dumplings. People wear new clothes, set off firecrackers and post couplets on the gates. Moreover, people go out to visit relatives and friends. For many children, The Spring Festival offers them a special chance to receive “lucky money”
