Emphasis
Notes:
If we want to emphasize the affirmative verb of a sentence with a simple present or simple past tense, we add the auxiliary do, does or did before the verb. 1. 我的确相信他是老实人。
I do believe that he is an honest man.
2. 她确实喜欢文学。
She does like literature.
3. 他们昨天的确去看过你，但没见到你。
They did go to see you yesterday, but
failed to meet you. Translate the following with emphasis.二、用强调句型帮助强调 1. 构成 (structure)It is/was +强调部分+that (who) +其他成分强调除谓语以外的句子成分强调人只能是
单数We can use this pattern to emphasize the subject, object
or adverbial.
They will have a meeting in the hall tomorrow.
主语
It is they that/who will have a meeting in the hall tomorrow.
宾语
It is a meeting that they will have in the hall tomorrow.
地点状语
It is in the hall that they will have a meeting tomorrow.
时间状语
It is tomorrow that they will have a meeting in the hall.
Exercise 句型转换 Bill made a kite at school yesterday.
It was Bill who/that made a kite

It was not until at that time that I realized what trouble he was in.
⑷ 当强调not…until结构时，必须将
not until连用,后面接肯定式。The teacher didn’t stop his lesson until the bell rang. (改成强调句） It was not until the bell rang that the teacher stopped his lesson. 把“It is/was --- that”去掉，如果剩余部分句子结构仍然完整，那么这个句子就是强调句；如果句子不完整，则不是强调句。

⑷ 当强调not…until结构时，必须将
