2. (90%学生)通过运用思维导图和做笔记,抓住主题句和支持细节,分类记录在泰国大象的重要性、大象的才能、大象的现状和数量和如何拯救他们。
3. (85%学生)能够运用目标语言symbol of…, can play… , be in (great)danger, cut down, things made of ivory等写出大象的重要性以及如何保护大象的措施。2.【情感态度目标】
乐于参与英语活动,敢用所学英语表达大象在泰国所处地位及现状和如何保护它们。
3.【文化意识目标】
了解泰国文化和文明,提升跨文化意识;更深入的了解一些濒危野生动物的处境,认识到保护环境的重要性。

培养学生的阅读技能以及构建思维导图的阅读策略。
教学难点
让学生理解文章内容。文章篇幅较长,生词较多,这些会成为学生阅读中的障碍。笔者将处理好生词,给与学生足够的时间去读,让他们带着兴趣去读。

2.To guide the students to say “hello” and introduce their group numbers.
3. Revise the names of animals by watching a video clip..

3. Talk about their favorite animals and the reasons.
1.师生问候,小组呈现,营造氛围,激发热情,激活旧知。
2. 以动物手绘视频切入主题,让学生在音乐声中欣赏各种各样的动物,读写已学动物名称,并引入到“大象”。
3.视频欣赏以后师生之间就动物展开简单对话,在环节上是一个自然的承接,同时也是对上一课内容的复习。

1.Let Ss guess what an animal is it in the picture.(an elephant)
2.Ask them a question that what you know more about elephants?

Read the article and find the main idea of each paragraph.
1. 快速阅读课文,让学生了解文章大意。课本2b部分要求学生阅读后选出最佳标题。在这一环节中要告诉学生在快读的过程中只需关注大意,先从整体上把握文章。
让学生们了解文章的段落如何去划分。
Step2.
Careful reading
(15 mins)

阅读第1段,根据提示回答问题:

(2)What was on the first flag?
(3)What was elephant the symbol of?

Read the passage again then work in groups to finish the exercise.

At last, they can try to check the main idea of the passage.
要求学生细读文章,通过寻找细节来获得更多信息。课本2c部分是要求学生完成一张思维导图,共四块内容,因此教师将课本上的思维导图分解开,让学生分段阅读,将导图中每段内容设计成问题让学生回答,板书时又将这些信息还原到黑板上的思维导图中,将文章内容,清晰地展示。让学生再获得整体的感知。
在这一部分,同学们通过大量老师设置的各类练习,而去良好的理解各个段落之间的关系及各个段落的意义。一次一次的不同类型练习都能够让学生更好的去深层理解文章的含义。
通过小组合作能够让学生更好地锻炼自己的合作意识。
对于课堂而言也能够通过在限定时间以内而各自处理自己的事情,从而提升整节课的课堂效率。
思维导图的设置在这里起到了很好的作用,可以让学生更能梳理的来看待文章,养成通过阅读来创建脑中的框架,能够更好的去预测文章的走向。也更能明了作者的意图。小组分工合作画思维导图可以给学生提供帮助。同时,采用以小组的形式四人一组复述,不仅能降低复述的难度,也因为有同伴在一起学生会更加有说的勇气。
2. 根据段意选择文章的标题,培养学生学会捕捉关键信息,整体把握阅读材料。设计让学生先选择段落大意,然后根据段意选择标题。帮助学生降低难度,也让学生了解概括段意和选择文章标题的方法。

课前预测
本单元的教学主题是动物。本课的教学内容是第四课时,话题转向了对濒危动物的关注。通过调查学生对濒危动物的了解引出保护濒危动物大象的语篇阅读,培养学生的阅读技能,增强学生的动物保护意识。由于语篇篇幅较长,生词较多,所以我需要花费一定的时间处理单词。在篇章阅读上,学生仍然处于阅读策略和阅读能力培养的初级阶段。在课堂上绘画思维导图部分如时间充足在上课时进行,时间不够则作为作业完成。
