This park is also famous for its wooden souvenirs. Whichever we bought in the central shop was made of wood, and wherever we went we could see minority carpenters working.
“More haste less speed,” as the saying goes.
“Accidents will happen,” as the saying goes.
As the saying goes, “Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched.”
However, as an old saying goes, a coin has two sides. Having a private teacher also has its disadvantages.
From my point of view, taking more physical exercises is a good way to solve these problems. Just as a saying goes: “Only work no play makes Jack a dull boy.”
2. 用There is a saying going like this
There is a saying going like this, “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” What is a true friend? A true friend is a person who can share your happiness and sorrow.
There is a Chinese saying going like this: “Traveling ten thousand li is better than reading ten thousand books.” Indeed, travel benefits us a lot.
There is an old saying going like this, “One will get something new in looking over one’s old studies,” which means that forming the good habit of revising is very important for us.
There is a saying going like this: Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise. Indeed, early rising does good to our life in many ways.
3. 用which is a saying we are all familiar with来引出谚语。
We should sleep eight hours and make ourselves in good moods every day. A merry heart goes all the way, which is a saying we are all familiar with.
Honesty is the best policy, which is a saying we are all familiar with. Everyone is likely to make mistakes, so are the children.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away, which is a saying we are all familiar with. In fact, apples contain plenty of nourishments which are good to our health.
1. Beggars cannot be choosers.
Like it or not, remember, beggars can’t be choosers.
I don’t care much for the Christmas present, for beggars can’t be choosers.
I would have preferred a bed, but beggars can’t be choosers so I slept on the sofa.
Usually I hate pancakes but beggars can’t be choosers. So I walked in hoping to find some discarded pancakes since I had no money.
2. Once bitten, twice shy.
She certainly won’t swim again—once bitten, twice shy.
I try to avoid meeting her. But probably once bitten, twice shy, I always feel nervous whenever I see her.
A: Do you think he will marry again?
B: I’m afraid he won’t—once bitten, twice shy.
3. It never rains but it pours.
First his car broke down, then he lost my key—it never rains but it pours!
A: Oh, my God! It’s the end of the world!
B: What’s the matter?
A: I got sacked yesterday.
B: Look on the bright side. Perhaps you can find a better job.
A: And my girl friend broke up with me this morning. I can hardly believe it!
B: I’m sorry to hear that. Can I do anything for you?
A: Can you lend me some money? I lost my wallet just now and my whole month’s salary was in it. Oh, no! How could this happen to me!
B: Just as the saying goes, it never rains but it pours. Anyway, cheer up. Everything will turn out all right.
A: I hope so.

Want a glance of the future of health care? Take a look at the way the various networks of people about patient care are being connected to one another, and how this new connectivity is being exploited to deliver medicine to the patient--no matter where he or she may be.
Online doctors offering advice based on normal symptoms(症状) are the most obvious example.Increasingly, however, remote diagnosis(远程诊断) will be based on real physiological data(生理数据) from the actual patient.A group from the University of Kentucky has shown that by using personal data assistance plus a mobile phone,it is perfectly practical to send a patient’s important signs over the telephone. With this kind of equipment, the cry asking whether there was a doctor in the house could well be a thing of the past.
Other medical technology groups are working on applying telemedicine to rural(countryside) care. And at least one team wants to use telemedicine as a tool for disaster need—especially after earthquakes. On the whole, the trend is towards providing global access to medical data and experts opinions.
But there is one problem.Bandwidth(宽带) is the limiting factor for sending complex(复杂的) medical pictures around the world—CT photos being one of the biggest bandwidth users.Communication satellites may be able to deal with the short-term needs during disasters such as earthquakes or wars. But medicine is looking towards both the second-generation Internet and third-generation mobile phones for the future of remote medical service.
Doctors have met to discuss computer.based tools for medical diagnosis, training and telemedicine. With the falling price of broadband communications, the new technologies should start a new time when telemedicine and the sharing of medical information, experts’ opinions and diagnosis are common.
40.The writer chiefly talks about ________.
A.the use of telemedicine
B.the on-lined doctors
C.medical care and treatment
D.communication improvement
41.The basis of remote diagnosis will be _______.
A.personal data assistance

A.Patients don’t need doctors in.hospitals any more
B.It is impossible to send a patient’8 signs over the telephone.
C.Many teams use telemedicine dealing with disasters now.
D.Broadband communications will become cheaper in the future.
43.The“problem”in the fourth paragraph refers to the fact that _______.
A.bandwidth isn’t big enough to send complex medical pictures
B.the second-generation of Internet has not become popular yet
C.communication satellites can only deal with short-term needs
D.there is not enough equipment for spreading the medical care

Wearing ties was originally the mark of Britain’s most powerful classes, which made the tie itself a symbol of power and respect. And that led it to be adopted by a much larger tribe—the business tribe.
You cannot wear a tie if you work with machinery. So wearing a tie became a sign that you were a man who used your brain to make a living, rather than your hands. It showed you were serious. It showed you were a professional. It meant that everyone who wanted a job in business had to wear one.It was just impossible to take seriously a man who didn’t wear a piece of colored silk around his neck.
This is how millions of people came to be wearing ties across the world.11ley ale part of the uniform of business.
“Ties offer a point of indifference.”says John Milne, head of the British Guide of Tie Makers,“They give a chance to say something about their own personality.”
So if you happen to meet a man with a very brightly colored tie, there is a good chance that he is the office joker. There is also a good chance that he will be wearing brightly colored socks.
Is there a future for ties? The signs are not promising.Tie wearing seems to be rare among the new bread of entrepreneurs(创业者) in the Internet and new technology industries. Many political leaders, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, now go without ties. This shows they are men of the people—but not the people wearing ties.
Up until around 1960,it was common for men across the western world to wear hats as part of their business uniform. That changed with the election of John F.Kennedy to the presidency of the United States.Kennedy never wore a hat——in fact his nickname was“hatless Jack”.Seeing that the most powerful man in the world did not have to wear a hat.millions of other men decided that they did not have to,either.Hats simply vanished across the Western
world.Perhaps“tieless Tony”(former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair) will have the 8anle effect as“hatless Jack”.

The peoples of the Scandinavian countries share a lot in common for geographical reasons. But there are more of differences than similarities between them in all ways, including their drinking customs.
A superficial(表面上的) observer might think that no one in Norway drinks wine.Meals eaten in restaurants or at home are usually washed down with tea, coffee or milk.Occasionally however, pale or dark ale(麦芽酒) is drunk. It can be ordered only in restaurants, where it is served only with food.
Excellent quality beers are made in Jutland and the price is high. After beer, brandy is the favorite drink.Aalborg schnapps made from corn and potatoes,is famous for its high alcoholic content. For the Danes, brandy is also all aperitif(开胃酒) and is often drunk before meals. For a foreigner, the practice of surrounding toasts here can be uncomfortable. If he accepts one toast then he will have to accept all others, and it is difficult to drink six or seven glasses of brandy unless one is used to it.Ladies are fortunately excluded from these rounds and they drink only a grape juice with almost no alcoholic content.
It is milk instead of liquor that is the principal(最重要的;主要的) Finnish table drink.More milk is drunk by the Finnish people than in any other nation. In Finland the sale of alcohol is a state behavior and a check is kept on consumption by recording purchases on special card issued to all customers.
As there is a difference between Swedish cooking in the south and that in the north because of the difference in soil and climate, their drinking habits are also different. In the north alcoholic beretages(烈酒) are considered a necessity because they keep out the cold. While in the south people have milder drinks. But generally speaking, too much drinking is rare in Sweden, partly because it is against the law.
Sale of spirits is controlled, the Swedes drink much coffee and tea. Many people still prefer the old-fashioned coffee served in large cups with cakes.Tea is so popular in Sweden that it has been called the Swedish national drink.
49.According to the passage, which of the following is the Swedish national drink?

UK workers are among the least stressed in Europe,a survey (调查) has suggested.Just 20% of British workers found their work place “too stressful” compared with an average of 27% across Europe.Switzerland and Sweden suffered the highest levels of anxiety in their job(33%),the survey by global recruitment(人力) agency Kelly Services found.
The survey of 19,000 people across 12 countries also found that male workers, older staff and those in steady jobs were under the greatest pressure.“A certain amount of stress is inevitable and can be a good thing when it pushes people beyond their comfort zone to work harder and smarter,”said Steve Girdler, marketing director of Kelly Services UK.“But high levels of long stress are not good because they impact on productivity and lead to physical and emotional illness,”he warned. The group also found stress increased significantly with age--rising from 19%in the 15—24 age to 23% for those aged 45 and above. The report suggested these workers could also be suffering from added stress at home and increased responsibility. Those working the longest hours found their job the most stressful:18% for those working 30 hours or less,34% for those clocking on for 4l—50 hours, and 50% for those working longer than 51 hours.Kelly Services also uncovered a close link between stress and job satisfaction. For those workers who said they faced too much stress, just 28% were happy in their jobs, while for those with “just the right amount of stress” happiness levels jumped to 65%.The findings suggest staff enjoy jobs where they face challenges that push them to“learn new skills”.

本题考查it’s said to...
the key to... 第二空made by the customers是后置定语,the demand与make之间存在被动关系,因此采用过去分词。
not only...but also连接并列主语时,谓语动词的数由与它最近的主语决定。
4.C 句意:你修一个灯收费多少钱?A项有较大干扰性,spend形成的搭配是sb.spend some time doing sth.,而charge形成的搭配是charge sb. for sth.
Be involved in sth.
come along的意思是“一起来”;come over的意思是“从远处过来”;come about的意思是“产生”;come up with的意思是“提出”。
volunteer to do sth.
I hope you to pass the exam.
make sense有道理,讲得通;make sense of sth.
be famous for因…… 而著名;be famous as作为……
a variety of...
more than意为“不只是”;而not more than意为“不超过”;no more than意为“只不过”;less than意为“不到,少于”。
17.C 联系空后的with people rushing to their jobs可知,现在大街上拥挤着赶着上班的人们。
21.A 联系空前的her wrinkled old face alive可知,老人带着内心的快乐在微笑着。
As I put it in my lapel可知,“我”选了一束花,把它放到衣领。其他选项中,look for寻找;stare at盯着看;put off取下,脱下,拖延。
23.D 联系后文“Why not?”she answered.“Everything is good.”
24.C 联系空后的and seemed so very old可以得出此答案。
27.D 联系下文的“You can’t 28 (reach) my age and not have troubles,”可知,“我”觉得老人有克服麻烦的能力。
Easter—our Lord arose from the dead可知,老人在讲述耶稣三天后复活的故事。
A
从文章“Our primary goal is to make sure this experience is an authentic extension(原著的延伸) of Harry Potter’s world as it is portrayed in the books and films.”
The plans I’ve seen look unbelievably exciting, and I don’t think fans of the books or films will be disappointed.
从第二段第二句话中的remote diagnosis(远程诊断) will be based on real physiological data(生理数据) from the actual patient可以作出正确判断。
With the falling price of broadband communications, the new technologies should start a new time when telemedicine and the sharing of medical information.expels’ opinions and diagnosis are common.
根据第四段第二句话Bandwidth(宽带) is the limiting factor for sending complex(复杂) medical pictures around the world—CT photos being one of the biggest bandwidth users.
由文章第一段中“which made the tie itself a symbol of power and respect”以及第二段可以判定领带是“社会地位”的象征。本题易受A项干扰,本题涉及的是领带“最初”的象征意义,而非“现在”的象征,文章提到“They give a chance to say something about their own personality.”
由第二段中“So wearing a tie became a sign that you were a man who used your brain to make a living, rather than your hands.”
结合上文“Seeing that the most powerful man in the world did not have to wear a hat, millions of other men decided that they did not have to,either。”
A项错误,可以从第二段直接找到答案;结合全文不难发现B项表达恰恰与原文相反,理解错误;D项表达错误,从“Up until around 1960,it was common for men across the western world to wear hats as part of their business uniform.”
由文章最后一段的“Tea is so popular in Sweden that it has been called the Swedish national drink.”
由文章第四段的“More milk is drunk by the Finnish people than in any other nation.”
UK workers are among the least stressed in Europe.
A certain amount of stress is inevitable and can be a good thing when it pushes people beyond their comfort zone...
选项C从以下两句可以推出:“But high levels of long stress are not good because they impact on productivity and lead to physical and emotional illness”和“for those with just the right amount of stress happiness levels jumped to 65%”。

Dear John,
I’m glad to hear you are coming to my hometown at Christmas. I have arranged a 3-day tour in Fuzhou for you.
The first wonder you can explore is Gu Mountain, located in the east of Fuzhou. On it stands an old temple, Yong Quan Temple, dating back to the Tan Dynasty. Surprisingly, it is still in good condition.
The second day I’ll take you to the forest park in the north of Fuzhou. With deep valleys, green trees, flowing streams, the park provides us with freshness and beauty.
On the last day we’ll finish our tour by visiting Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, whose reputation lies in the celebrities who previously lived there and the rich local culture and history it preserves.
I hope my arrangements will make your travel enjoyable and worthwhile.
Yours,
Li Ming
