重点学习介绍、询问个人信息的方法。单元重点为学生呈现了七年级四班的李老师和新同学见面时的对话。李老师首先作了自我介绍,并逐一询问了新同学的个人情况:姓名,年龄和家乡等。学生来自不同的国家,所以对话中还涉及了不同的国籍。

Step 1 Warming-up (1: P2)
Greet students and make a self-introduction.
T: Good morning, everyone! Nice to meet you here. I’m Zhang Lan. Call me Miss Zhang, OK?
S: Nice to meet you, too, Miss Zhang.
T: Good. Now let’s get to know each other. What’s your name, please?
S: My name is …
T: Where are you from?
S: I’m from …
Give every student a chance to introduce himself / herself.

用自我介绍引入本课话题,激发学生兴趣。通过师生互动,活跃课堂气氛,为正式进入课文内容的学习进行热身。
Step 2 Listening
Ask students to listen to the conversation and answer the questions.
T: Two new students meet for the first time. Now listen to their conversation and answer the following questions.
Show the following.
1. Who are they?
2. What are they doing?
Play the tape again for them to work out the answers. Then check the answers.
【设计意图】
让学生听力输入任务加深学生听力文本的理解。老师也可以通过问答任务检验学生的学习效果,有针对性地进行重复。
Step 3 Listening and reading
1 First ask students to listen and check the number of speakers.
Play it again and have the students check the words they hear.
Check the answers with the whole class.
2 Play the recording in Activity 3 and ask the students to listen and answer the questions.
Play it again and have the students check the true sentences in Activity 3.
Write the words teacher, student, class, Chinese, friend, school on the blackboard. Read these words and ask students to repeat after you.

通过听力文本带领学生学习本课生词,进行适当拓展,让学生在生词理解上从会读、会认到会写、会用。
Step 4 Activities
Divide the students into groups of five to practise the dialogue and ask students to act out in groups.
Ask students to finish Activities 4-5 in pairs. Check the answers with the whole class.

Step 5 Pronunciation
Go on with activity 6. Explain that Activity 6 focuses on some English phonemes.

Step 6 Speaking
Students ask and answer about their own information.
Students will introduce themselves by saying: My name is...I am ...I’m from …I’m ...years old.
