本单元的话题是Animals in a zoo.?功能是“Describe animals ;Express preferences"?。?Section A?主要学习动物名称及描述动物的形容词并运用所学词汇回答Why do you like ...?Because ...来谈论对动物的喜好及原因。在此基础上，Section B?的阅读转向了对“濒危动物”的关注，在提高学生阅读能力的同时，培养学生的动物保护意识和人文素养。
学情分析
经过一个多学期的英语学习，学生们对于why ,where ,what?引导的特殊疑问句有所熟悉，具有了学习本单元知识的认知前提。

T:Let’s learn more about the elephants in Thailand .
Then show a video of elephants in Thailand. In the video, we can see elephants are very important in Thailand and they can do lots of things. But elephants now are in great danger. We should help them.
At the same time, show new words and expressions in this passage to decrease the difficulty of reading.Such as “cut down many trees”, “symbol”, “flag”,etc.

3.?阅读策略的使用在提高阅读速度和阅读技巧方面很有效。以往学语篇时逐句分析语言点的方式使得文章支离破碎，只见树木，不见森林，应被摒弃。
4.不足之处，基础弱一些的同学反应慢，跟不上节奏，需加大其提前预习的力度。
另外，初一学生的词汇量有限，在表达如何保护动物时，用英语组织语言的能力较弱。
5.?正如专家讲评所言We learn to read by reading.?在今后的语篇教学中，一定要牢记此则。
