Anne was sitting in the mountains of the village. It was her last spring in the mountains because she would be leaving her aunt’s house to rejoin her family in Los Angeles. She had been staying to finish the sixth grade when her parents readied (为……做好准备) their new home.
There was another girl who was drawing beside her.
“Is this your Thinking Place too?” Anne asked. The other girl nodded and smiled. There was a piece of sadness, Anne realized, in that girl’s blue eyes.
Then the girl’s question came, “What are you thinking about?”
