辨析:for example与such as
(1) for example 用来举例说明某一论点或情
况,一般只列举同类人或物中的“一个”为例, 做插入语,可位于句首,句中和句末。
eg: Ball games, for example, have spread around the world. 例如,球类运动已经在世界各地传播开了。
(2) such as 用来列举事物时,一般列举同类人或事物中的几个例子。 插在被列举的事物 与前面的名词之间。As后面不可有逗号。
(3)比较:
1) for example是插入语,句子结构不受其影响,而such as后面接名词,动名词。for example不可与etc.连用,
2) such as常用来列举同类人或同类事物的几个,但不是全部,其后不加逗号。
Eg: Tom for example, is my good friend.例如汤姆,是我的好朋友。

I am very glad that I can write a letter to you.
I visited a beautiful city—Beijing several days ago. It is the capital of China and it is also a good place to have fun. It has friendly people, places of interest and many special things that you can only see in Beijing. The great wall, summer palace are all the good places in the world, and these famous buildings also have many famous myths. After a day’s traveling, we came back to my hotel, I ate the most famous food here— Peking Duck. It is really delicious.
I hope that you can come to Beijing and the people in Beijing welcome you!
