Norman Bethune is one of China's most famous heroes(英雄),but he wasn't Chinese—he was Canadian.He gave his life to helping the Chinese people.
Norman Bethune was born in 1890. He became a doctor in 1916, and looked after injured soldiers in World WarⅠ.He saw a lot of soldiers die in the war,and later he invented new treatments to help soldiers,and medical tools to use outside hospitals.He's remembered for his work as a doctor treating(治疗) soldiers in different countries.
In 1938 he came to China to look after the Chinese soldiers in the mountains north of Yan'an.There were few doctors,so he had to work very hard.He opened hospitals to give treatments to local people and soldiers, and to train(培训) doctors and nurses. He__also__wrote__books__so__that__doctors__were__able__to__learn__about__new__treatments.
Dr. Bethune worked very hard without stopping to rest.Once, he did operations for 69 hours without stopping,and saved 112 people.He continued working in spite of(尽管) cutting his hand during an operation.In the end, he died because he did not stop to take care of his hand.
His work with the Chinese soldiers made him a hero in China.There are books and films about him, and he is still remembered in both Canada and China.

The Story of Norman Bethune
In 1938, Bethune found that there was a war between China and Japan. As a communist, he made up his mind to help Chinese. He went to Yan'an, Shaanxi Province. He not only saved people's lives, but also taught people how to become a good doctor.
In 1939, more and more Chinese people needed his help, so he became busier and busier. One day, we got bad news. When he was operating on a soldier's arm, his finger was sliced by a knife suddenly. He ignored it and continued to work. Unluckily, he was infected and couldn't be treated to save his life. Two weeks later, Dr. Norman Bethune passed away. He was buried in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province.

2.学习方法
(1)定语从句学习的关键:瞻前顾后,即往前看、往后看。定语从句须有关系词来引导,而选择关系词的依据就是往前要看先行词是指人、事物、时间、地点还是原因等,往后要看先行词在从句中所充当的成分。如果不清楚关系词究竟充当了从句的何种成分,不妨将先行词代入从句进行还原分析。
(2)定语从句解题步骤:
第一步找出先行词;
第二步看引导词在定语从句中的语法功能(作主语、宾语或状语);
