3. To improve students’ listening skills:
*Getting the main idea of the listening material
*Writing down detailed information while listening
*Memorizing some useful expressions people use to describe the earthquake in the listening text

Getting the gist of the listening material
Taking down the detailed information while listening again
Using some expressions and sentence patterns to make up a conversation

Step 1: Revision
1. Let’s play a game!
If you know the picture, stand up and say a word loudly! For each word you can get one point. Which group will win?
The group who win the game will get beautiful postcards of new Tangshan.
