【教材分析】
本课是PEP小学英语五年级下册Unit 4 When is the art show?的B部分Read and write. 本课内容是Sarah的日记，主要记录小猫的成长过程。本课分为读、写两个部分。第一部分要求学生阅读四篇日记。第二部分为朗读连线及有意义的抄写语句。本节课的教学重点在于复习巩固月份及日期的表达方法；阅读方法的指导、如何从文中获取有效信息并正确的表达；并通过学习，了解日记的格式，并模仿着写自己的英文日记。
【学情分析】
本课的教学内容对于五年级的学生来说难度较大，虽然他们已经学习了序数词的用法，但是要正确的拼读序数词，归纳月份及日期的的拼读规律，并正确读出本课日期，还是有一定难度的，很容易与基数词发生混淆。并且本课是通过日记的形式来记录生活中的事情。学生们不仅要读懂日期，还要明白日记的内容及格式。因此，本课有一定的难度。作为老师要带领学生学会分析日记，分析内容，然后再让大家小组合作学习。不过，本课是以Sarah的小猫日记为主线，记录小猫的生长过程，学生对此也很感兴趣。
【教学目标】
1.知识目标：
（1）能够听、说、认读单词：kitten, diary, still, make noises, fur.
（2）复习巩固月份和日期的表达方法。
2.技能目标：
（1）小组合作，掌握良好的阅读策略，并正确朗读Read and write内容。
（2）积极大胆地尝试写作日记，提高自主学习能力。
3.情感目标：
能够培养乐于观察生活的积极态度，以及坚持日记的好习惯。
【教学重点】
重点：1. 复习巩固月份及日期的英文用法。
2. 能够在实际语境中交流运用描述性句型“They are...””They have....” ”They can...”
3.能够读懂并复述Read and write内容，并掌握基本的阅读策略。
【教学难点】
难点：能够掌握基本的阅读策略，尝试英文写作。

多媒体课件，板书词卡，学生写作paper
【教学过程】
Step 1. Warming up
Greeting. How are you?
Let’s sing: “Baby Animals.”
Step 2. Presentation
1. Which animals can you see?
S: baby dog、baby cat、baby rabbit、baby chicken
认读新单词puppy, kitten, bunny, chick。
（设计意图：导入情境，为引出本课情境Kitten做铺垫.）
T: Who is she?
引出Sarah and her cat.
T: What happened to the cat?
听动物叫声，引出kittens，板书词卡。
T: Sarah is very happy and she keeps writing diaries for the kittens.

Talk about the four photos and guess the number.
What are they like?
What can they do?
Fast reading
Read quickly：
Order the four pictures and find out the dates.
Check the number and show the date cards.

Find out the difficult words and underline them.
师教读并在语句中理解词意 skill, make noises, fur.

Read the last three diaries and find out the key words.
