Unit 4 I used to be afraid of the dark.
第一课时 （Section A 1a-2d）
used to 意为“过去常常”，后接动词原形，表示过去的动作或状态。
疑问句由Did … use to…?或Use … to…?构成。
Did he use to play soccer? = Used he to play soccer?
否定句由didn`t use to…?或used not to…(usedn`t to…)构成。
I didn`t use to be very quiet. = I used not to be quit.
拓展：be used to doing sth. “习惯于做某事”，可用于各种时态；
He is used to going to sleep early.他习惯于早睡
be used to do sth. “被用于做某事”，是被动语态，不定式表目的。用于多种时态。
Wood is used to make houses.木头被用来造房子。
be afraid of 相当于be terrified of 都有“害怕”的意思。前者语气较轻。
be afraid of sb./sth.害怕某人某物” Are you afraid of snakes?
be afraid of doing sth.“害怕做某事” I`m afraid of going out alone at night.
be afraid to do sth. “害怕去做某事” I`m afraid to travel by plane.
be afraid +that 从句，句中afraid意为“恐怕，担心”
see sb do sth 看到某人做某事，指看的全过程；
I saw you put the key in your pocket. 我见你把钥匙放进了口袋里。
see sb doing sth 看到某人正在做某事，指看的瞬间动作。
I saw her cleaning the classroom.我看见她正在打扫教室。
4. You used to be short, didn’t you ?你过去是矮的，不是吗？ 本句是一个反意疑问句，它的特点是“前否后肯”或“前肯后否”，而且后半句的动词在时态、人称、数等方面必须与前半句的动词相呼应，且后半句否定形式要缩写。

拓展：回答反义疑问句，答案含义是依据，肯定事实用Yes +肯定结构，否定事实用No + 否定结构。（但是汉语意思与词意相反）
—You didn’t go to school ,did you ? 你没有去上学，是么？
—Yes,I did. / No,I didn’t. 不，我上了。 / 是的，我没上。
5.Don`t you remember me? 难道你不记得我了吗？ 本句为否定疑问句，表示说话者惊奇、反问、或失望等语气，意为“难道……不……？” 它的结构为：be动词/助动词/情态动词+not+主语+其他？
6.It`s been three years since we last saw our primary school classmates.自从我们上次看到我们的小学同学，已经三年了。
It+ has been+一段时间+since+从句（一般过去时= It is +一段时间 +since +从句（一般过去时）
“自从……是……”
It has been three months since he moved to this city.
= It is three months since he moved to this city.
（注：该句型也可转换成“主语+现在完成时+since + 一般过去时从句）
He has moved to this city since three months ago.
