One of the most important discovery

during this period was what to draw things

in perspective. This technique was first used by Masaccio in 1428. When people first saw his paintings, they convinced that they were

looking for a hole in a wall at a real scene.
If the roles of perspective have not been

discovered, no one would have been able to paint such real pictures. By coincidence, oil

without在这等于but for,引导的介词短语
是一个暗含的非真实条件,主句用虚拟语气。
